I’ve gone to this place many times and enjoyed myself. I like to I’ve gone to this place many times and enjoyed myself. I like to watch the trails walk the trails interact with the off leash dogs. I don’t have a dog my apartment Won’t allow me to have pets so it’s a joy coming up and seeing nature and the dogs enjoying themselves.

What is really disturbing to me is how there is people roaming the park day drinking Alcohol nowadays interacting with people trying Enjoy themselves.

I’ve witnessed numerous different people harassing people with dogs just trying to enjoy themselves at the park while they’re intoxicated. I’ve also witnessed people who live on the park as I’m just Walking on the trail heavily drinking while doing yardwork it’s just a disturbing to me when I walk past them and I see them drinking and then yelling at people about their dogs. The people with dogs aren’t doing anything wrong.

Witnessed this pattern of behavior with people yelling at people with dogs now for a while.

It really upset me Today because I watched this lady go out of her way off the trail walking at least a couple hundred feet. Her breast smell like she had a fireball shot in her hand that she took before walking over and yelling at these people dogs are supposed to be on leash and she is terrified of dogs. She kept yelling that I am definitely scared and terrified of dogs.

I think the mayor and city council need to be focusing on helping people with mental illness and alcoholism because it seems that these cases are caused by people drinking and possible drug use with it..

It’s very disturbing how the mayor is siding with people with drug and alcohol addiction problems creating problems at this great park in Minnetonka. You would think that the city council and mayor would actually try to do something to better the park instead of taking it away for a place where people can drink and harass people.

I have followed the City Council meetings very closely.

On the subject and have watched and listen to the mayor and city Council lie to the people about how this park actually works.

Peoples rights should not be violated because the mayor and city Council won’t deal with people that have drug and alcohol addiction problems, and are refusing to deal with that because they want to say they Good job they don’t do anything and they’re avoiding the problem because they don’t want that to reflect back on them.

If you see these people drinking, it’s not hard on weekdays towards evening 6 o’clock that’s when they will start to be drunk or on a very hot afternoon day like yesterday.

It’s just very sad because there’s not enough people here to create problems, but we have people running around yelling that they’re terrified of dogs when...

Beautiful park! Purgatory creek runs through the whole park. The trails are beautiful and diverse. Deep woods, cattails and grasses along the creek, and open prairie in the middle. There is a picnic area near the north parking lot. Benches throughout on and off the maintained trails. Whatever kind of walk you’re in the mood for, you can find it at Purgatory. The dog rules are NOT explicitly stated, but I can tell you that the rules are absolutely enforced, because I have paid $150 fine for not having my dog leashed near the entrance to the off-leash area. My fault. Dogs must be leashed on any improved trail in this park (gravel and pavement in this park specifically).

We come here nearly everyday. If there has been rain recently, wear footwear that you don’t mind getting muddy if you plan on walking the slough near the creek, or back in the woods.

Enjoy, and please pick up...

I have lots of great memories growing up near this park and walking the trails. Recently however it seems that people have taken to believe that it's actually an off leash dog park and you're inconveniencing them by not wanting a random dog in your space? While dogs are allowed off leash in the areas not maintained by the city (i.e. the middle part) the most important section of the statute seems to be forgotten or ignored, that dogs must be controlled and recalled upon command. Your dog (yes yours too) probably is a great dog, would never hurt anyone. But a random dog popping out of the woods is never a welcome sight. We live in a society with rules. At least pretend like you share this space with...

Baby's first off leash trip to a park with no fencing. Dogs are allowed off leash in the nature reserve area of the park if they are under voice control. She did amazing, I am so unbelievably proud of her! #greyhound #dogsoftiktok #greyhoundpuppy #dogtraining #dogspots

We found Lui a new park for him to have fun! He loves running through the woods and trails… and running up and down stairs! #puppy #minnesota

Gorgeous park with lots of great paths both the maintained ones and the ones through the brush. Obviously the park is not enclosed so don't take your dog off leash unless you have great recall and voice control of them. My only other "complaint" is that dogs are only allowed off leash in unmaintained areas of the park and that is a really vague description so it's hard to know sometimes if you are in the correct place for it or not.
