Great trail for biking, a few nasty bumps in the pavement though. Overall a peaceful ride with great scenery and nature.
The next complaint isn’t the park’s fault so much as some of the public: we experienced a lot of the open hostility towards e-bike riders. We are out here just trying to enjoy the scenery like anyone else and get some exercise as well. We did bot rode at dangerous speeds and were respectful to walkers and others on the trail.
To be openly called ‘cheaters’ by normal bikers is a bit much. We had one guy on an adult trike accuse us of having motors, he then sped past us, pulled in front of us and slowed down so we couldn’t pass..
Look I had a heart attack at 37 and a triple bypass. I can’t risk the exertion that comes with riding a normal bike. When I feel I have reached an exercise limit, I can turn up the pedal assist on an electric bike and let my heart slow down again while still enjoying the ride. Otherwise I’d not get to enjoy riding at all. Please take some stuff like this into consideration before being openly hostile towards other e-bikers. It really does help individuals that would otherwise not be able to exercise using normal bikes. Plus we’re all just out here...
