On a quick trip tp Branson (weekend of June 20th), we were looking for somewhere new to go to, and I found Bear Creek Wine Company and Brewery online. We were excited to go and see what they were all about. We arrived for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. We had never been there before and pulled up uncertain where the restaurant was. There was a male employee outside who did not offer any assistance even though you could tell we were uncertain where we were going. We entered the restaurant (which is beautiful). A lady stepped out of the kitchen to take our order. We were looking at the menu. She never interacted with us like you would think. She just asked what we wanted. She did not explain the drink specials. We had wanted to order drinks and chose not to because we had questions. She just stood there and stared at us while we talked about the menu. After we order, she explained we could sit anywhere. We looked around and found seats. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean.. You can tell a lot of upkeep is put into it. The lady who brought our food was very friendly and nice. Our food was excellent. As we were leaving, we stepped out and the lady who took our order was coming into the restaurant from outside. She never said, "thank you for coming or hope you have a good day, etc." She never acknowledges us even though we opened the door for her. It seemed like they have their regulars and do not need new customers, which is fine. We had talked about staying in the cabins next time before we actually had this experience. I noticed they do not allow Facebook reviews as well.
Overall: food was great and restaurant is beautiful and very clean. The customer service leaves something to be desired. It is hard to want to spend your money at an establishment where the employees are...
Read moreRude and kind of unfriendly. I called at about 4:45 and asked if we came in with a small group (4 people) if we could be served and purchase some wine. The guy said they close at 5 and I asked again if we got in the door before 5 if we could sample and make a purchase. He once again stated that they close at 5 which seemed rude to me as I think he should have been able to figure out my plainly and politely asked question but I guess he didn’t care. I figured that they would serve us as we did intend to spend money and were probably going to buy about 4 bottles of wine or more so we drove to the winery. We arrived about 1-2 minutes before 5 and the employee (owner maybe? I don’t know) met me at the door and said they close at 5 and he couldn’t serve us and something about the law. I’m not a lawyer and I don’t know Missouri state liquor laws by memory but my assumption is/was that this was completely false and he just wanted to go home and didn’t care about customer service. His tone and demeanor was uncaring and very matter of fact and I didn’t the have the patience to argue at that point so I said ok and we left. We instead went to copper run distillery where we were greeted with a smile, the lady was friendly and took the time to talk to us and serve us. So bear creek, you missed out on over 100$ in sales which is what we spent at the distillery and you also have at least 4 well educated wine loving adults that have visited EVERY winery in this state that will now speak of your rude treatment of them to all of their friends. I understand if you want to close at 5 and it is your prerogative but you could be a little more polite and just say next time that you don’t care about the extra sales and no you will not serve anyone past 5 and you will not let them in the door either as clear communication...
Read moreAmazing view and great potential! The owner has obviously become complacent on the customer experience. I make an effort to support local business and came here with my wife for pizza and beer. We arrived at 1:30 with a handful of other people in the restaurant area and most were already eating. Ordered a few pizzas and beer. We enjoyed the outdoors for an hour while waiting on our food and became concerned our food order was forgotten. Other people arrived after us and had already been enjoying their pizza and beverages. My wife went up to ask about the order and was made to feel like it was her fault that maybe she had placed the order with the wrong person. They checked and it looked like our ticket was the last one still waiting to be cooked. It took another 30 minutes after asking before our Pizza arrived with attitude. No apologies, no concern about the time or an explanation. I proceeded to ask when paying for our bill if this is normal and was told it normally takes around 20 to 30 minutes. I was then given the chance to speak with the owner and she proceeded to just give me excuses of a shift change and again no apologies for the hour and a half wait on some basic pizza. It was very evident that there was no concern about our poor experience and no value given in our dollar be spent there. Again, I was made to feel like I was in the wrong and did not feel welcomed there. it became very clear after speaking with the owner, that she created that culture and has forgotten about customer service. So if you decide to give this place a try, expect a beautiful scene, decent food, okay beer, but questionable...
