My wife and I spent two nights in the Treehouse cabin which is tucked away in the woods at Bear Creek Bed and Breakfast Lodge and Cabins. This was a short getaway for us to unwind. We have enjoyed a number of cabins in this price range in the Ozarks, and the Treehouse cabin exceeded our expectations. On arrival we noted the cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. ||||The cabin is spacious and comfortable for the two. The private back deck has a new hot tub and a beautiful view of the woods. We enjoyed the birds singing, and though we looked for them, we did not see any bears. The cabin was very quiet and we slept soundly in the comfortable queen size bed. It was the first hot and muggy week of the summer and the air conditioner kept us cool and comfortable. The sofa is a cozy spot to cool off. Though we preferred the quiet to the television, the cabin has satellite television and the internet connection is good. The stay was restful and relaxing. ||||Even as there is a labor shortage that is challenging most businesses, the staff at Bear Creek are friendly, courteous, attentive and they seemed committed to ensuring we had a great experience. The Bear Creek Lodge grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This haven is a special place to enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks that surround.||||On the first evening of our stay, we had rustic pizza and wine in the cabin. The Farmhand Favorite pizza was delicious. My wife and I have visited several wineries in Missouri and along the Missouri River. I didn't think I liked Missouri wines. Bear's Breath is a pleasing and satisfying blend of Chambourcin and Syrah. We also bought a bottle of Bear's Breath and Back-Forty to take home with us. We look forward to future visits to Bear Creek Wine Company to try their other wines. ||||The following morning we enjoyed tasty homemade cinnamon rolls and fruit. On the second evening, we enjoyed the view from the deck at the Wine Cellar with a flight of beers brewed on site. As we sampled the beers, we enjoyed the music of the one man band, Justin Larkin. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the flavor of a beer brewed with bananas.||||The day we departed, the staff was preparing for a wedding. The chapel and grounds seem like a perfect place to make such a memory. We recommend Bear Creek Lodge, Winery and Brewery, and we are looking forward to a longer stay in the future.||||All policies are clearly spelled out on the website and in an information book in the cabin. It is clear the management has a lot of experience and wants to set realistic expectations with guests. Our experience met and exceeded our...

Read moreA nice place to stay with a few significant disappointments.
We'll start with the positives: The cabins and grounds are everything they boast to be and more. Very beautiful with a wonderful country charm and feel. The walking paths are short, but lovely. The buildings cause the imagination to drift back to the simpler days. A wonderful ambience for sure.
But here are the negitives for any would-be travelers.
The lodge is a little hard to find, especially at night. It's off the beaten path for sure. The GPS is confused and recalculates often.
The owner of the inn (the charming country woman who appears in the video) is anything but charming. She appears to have left her first love---the guests. We found her mostly irritable, and specifically unfriendly and unhelpful. One of her staff member had to apologize for her by stepping in and finishing our check-in process... that's not in the video.
This was the biggest disappointment of all---the breakfast. Disappointing would be a great understatement. Non-existent a better description. Stale cinnamon rolls and a nearly empty fridge was all that awaited us at the lodge. Seriously, there was a few bottles of orange juice, a plate of chocolate cake, bottled water, and a few stale cinnamon rolls to which the man behind the counter pointed and said help yourself. This TOTALLY defeats the purpose of a bed and breakfast. For this reason alone, I would strongly recommend that anyone looking for a B&B, LOOK ELSEWHERE.
In summary: They have nice cabins and a great start-up story, but if you're in it for the hospitality and food---FIND...
