A Timeless Treasure for Families: James McDonald Park in St. Ann, MO

We’ve been coming to James McDonald Park for years, ever since my children were toddlers—and now, as they’re growing up on me (cue the tears!), this park holds so many cherished memories. Through every stage of their childhood, this park has never let us down.

The swing set and large slides have been a constant source of joy, providing endless hours of laughter and fun. The picnic areas are perfect for everything from snack breaks to family lunches, and the open spaces allow kids to run and play freely.

What makes this park stand out is how it continues to grow with our family. While it’s perfect for little ones, it also caters to slightly older children with its spacious playground and engaging activities. It’s become our go-to spot for creating family traditions, celebrating milestones, or just enjoying a sunny afternoon together.

I highly recommend James McDonald Park to anyone looking for a safe, clean, and versatile outdoor space—especially if you have kids who are a bit older and still full of energy. This park truly has something for everyone, and I’m so grateful for the memories we’ve made here. Here's to many more years of visiting this...

I'm relatively new to the area, and I haven't explored much to this point. I recently got an ebike, and I'm using it to familiarize myself with the local parks. I rode here because it has a multi-use paved path where I could ride my ebike. It's a wonderful place to ride. I didn't see any joggers, but I did come across a few walkers. I really enjoyed riding the path. It meanders throughout the park. It was hot and sunny that day, so I really appreciated the parts of the path that were shaded. It was a great ride, and I'll...

This is a lovely park that is very well-maintained with a wide, paved walkway that the AllTrails McDonnell Park North Trail follows. There's a recently renovated bathroom that surprised me with how nice it was, and the trail itself is mostly shady, which was nice on a warm morning. My memory of McDonnell Park goes way back to the old McDonnell Douglas days and company-sponsored park events, so maybe I'm just being nostalgic - but I'd return here for some good exercise along...
