This is one of the most beautiful, isolated places on earth. Park your car at Papohaku Beach Park, take the path to the beach and, if you can, make time to walk to both ends... about a 6 mile round trip. You will most likely be the only people on the beach. Dangerous to swim here year 'round, and when windy - especially in the winter months - keep your eye on the waves. On clear days you can see Oahu over 20 miles away. Close by to the south is Kapukaheku (Dixie Maru) Beach, a cove where it is safe to swim. There is also a fairly flat hike with several small heiau remains that you can take to Kaunala Bay and beyond (don't let the fence bother you; there is a ladder leading over it to the trail). It's a great hike to the abandoned, framed tent "resort" area. You may also want to head back north to Kaiaka Rd. and take it to the parking lot at the end, then find the trail to the top of Kaiaka Point to see what's left of WWII placements and the remains of a sacred Heiau. Gorgeous views of both beached from here. I'm not sure why some have rated this area so poorly; It is one of the most incredible places I know of in the...

Do you like miles of pristine white sand and absolutely clear, turquoise water? If not, you'll hate it here. For me, this place is perfect. We went on a Thursday and were 3 of the 5 people on the beach at all. We went back in Saturday with the weekend "crowd"- I counted 20 people spread out along the more than 2 miles of beach.

Reviews say the beach is unswimmable- we swam. There is an undertow, but it was nothing compared to any California beach I've been to. The water is crystal clear and breathtaking. There were locals swimming far out, children wading and a few snorkelers.

The kids loved the crashing waves, and I liked that they were never more than knee high. It made it easy to supervise (no life guards on duty). We loved this beach. There are bathrooms with showers and a tree trunk shower, which we thought...

Located on an easy drive to the west side of Molokai. It was easily accessible and parking was ample and flat. We were the only people at the beach at noon on a weekday in March. This is not a swimable beach. Watch children closely. The waves are mezmerizing and clearly unpredictable. From the parking lot, it is an easy, short, level walk thru a beautiful shaded park with bathrooms, outdoor shower, picnic tables and charcoal grills. The sand is soft and squishy then slopes down toward the shoreline where the sand is firm and walkable. A few shells lay in the tide wash areas. Be careful of waves that wash away your footing. The colors of blue in the water...
