Felker Park — Attraction in Monroe

I am highly disappointed with this place. Today i called to get some information about renting the splash pad at Ayers park for my sons birthday in August. The woman on the phone told me that they only have after hours rentals and during the week that would be 6:15-8:15. I had already looked up saturday rental hours so i knew you could book earlier on Saturdays, from 4:15-6:15. She told me everything was booked up and the next available Saturday for that time would be the 24th. I said okay that will work because that's just a few days after his birthday. I was very excited because my sons loves going to this place. She told me I couldn't book over the phone, i had to drive 40 mins from my house to the closest community center which was this one in monroe. She said she was going to send them a message and let them know i was coming. I drove all the way there for the lady at the front desk to tell me it had already been booked for that day. I was very dumbfounded to say the least. Not only was i about to spend over $500 to book this place for my son to have his birthday party there, but i wasted my time and gas money driving there because they would not book it over the phone. They knew that i was coming and they still booked it before i got there. I was polite and walked out and called the lady that had originally told me this date was open and that she would send them a message. She tells me it is in fact now booked and it is first come first serve..which she had never even said to me over the phone. I have spent lots of money at this park and many others in this county..they need to change their policy or something because this is absolutely insane. The size and convenience of this park is great. I used to go to Meridian before they started closing the gym at 5PM. I would go out of my way to go to this park/gym because they are more flexible on hours and had a friendlier staff. The gym was in good shape. Outside of the gym being occupied sometimes, I managed to work around the schedule and find time to make it work out for my family and I.
