One of the best NP visitor centers in the whole country! And we’ve been to a lot. We were extremely impressed with the visitors center at this battlefield. It’s currently under construction. So the only things available, are a miniature display of the town, a gift shop, and a movie you can watch about the battles here. We were told that the rest should be completed in October. We came before then, and asked for a tour of the new section. It is truly spectacular! The planning, time, preparation, and thought that has gone into what they’re creating is incredible! It’s almost like a hands-on interactive, children’s museum. Everything is made authentic to the way the natives lived. And gives so much perspective on life back then. Check the schedule and try to come when there is a re-enactment outside. The volunteers put on a spectacular show and we learned so much afterwards, as we asked them questions. Our kids were also able to get their junior ranger badges. We all really enjoyed the section where they learned about trading and what different goods were worth. As well as the look and find part of the...

This is a nice National Battlefield Park. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. I drove up here and parked in the visitor center's parking lot, which is just a house. I walked into the visitor center, which had some exhibits about the Battle of River Raisin and an informational film about the battle. All of the exhibits and the room with the informational film are on the first floor of the house. I don't know what's on the second floor of the house. I looked at the visitor center's exhibits, which are pretty informational. The film was also pretty good. After I was in the visitor center, I walked through the battlefield park. There was a sidewalk which passed by signs saying what happened where. The area outside the visitor center was just a plot of grass with nothing else, but a replica of the village at River Raisin is being built. After I walked around the battlefield, I left, satisfied with my experience. I gave this National Battlefield Park five stars because it has a nice visitor center, and because it's conveniently...

We were really impressed by the set up. Very informative, they were just setting up the new exhibit when we were there, but it was really nice so far, so many interactive things for all ages, my 20 year old son just loved it. The people there were great too, answering questions and explaining displays. Nice gift shop with reasonable prices, a few snacks and drinks too...and a squished penny machine!! I collect, so super excited about that. Clean bathrooms. We happened to go when they were having demonstrations outside with people dressed in period clothes and very friendly and informative. They had axe throwing, my son did much better than myself. All free too! Large parking lot. easy to find right off the highway. Our family had a great time and will definitely be back for the reenactments and to walk the battlefield, I understand there is a marked trail with information plaques but we didn't get a chance to check...

Travel Tip: Wigmans were exactly like the tents we use camping today. It’s important to always check your gear before headingvout on any outdoor adventure. Fun Fact: Wigwams were also used to house females during their time of the month. They would be brought anything they needed and were celebrated during this time. #wigwam #nativeamerican #shelter #transport #trips #education #teacher #teachersoftiktok #thetravelingtextbook #educateyourself #packyourbags #fyp #traveltolearn #foryou #michigan #huron #algonquianindian

Travel Tip: Get out an explore around where you live. This National Park is one of the least known of all national parks, but has one of the best visitor/education centers! Fun Fact: The wounded American prisoners of this battle were scalped before the log house they were in was burned to the ground by Indian allies of the British. #monroe #monroecounty #battlefield #riverraisin #tecumseh #nationalpark #education #teacher #teachersoftiktok #thetravelingtextbook #nps #packyourbags #fyp #fypシ #foryou #traveltiktok #traveltolearn #warof1812 #warof1812history #british #rallycry #remembertheraisin
