The Cold Spring Trailhead leads you on paths to some spectacular views. The trailhead lies at the end of a very twisty road that can be hard to navigate, and parking is limited to the side of the road. This particular trail leads you up along one of the mountain ridges that overlooks the Santa Barbara region. The first half-mile of trail is of easy difficulty and well shaded from the sun. After 1 mile you will have great views of the city below and the surrounding foothills. If you continue upwards you will encounter more strenuous hiking conditions in direct sunlight. Be sure to bring lots of water! For skilled hikers and determined sightseers, the top of Montecito Peak is a great destination. This hike is an 8 mile round-trip trek, up very steep and difficult terrain. But for those who succeed, the views are incredible! #hike #mountain #santabarbara #montecito

Fantastic hike up to Tangerine Falls. There is only a trickle of water at the 100 ft cliff face that is the main falls and the final stop on this hike today November 24th, 2020 but there are still crystal clear pools and tiny cascades of water as you scramble over boulders throughout this picturesque and challenging hike. Take the left trail just across the single lane Bridge, about a half mile in cross the creek then look for a brown pressure treated 4x4 post marking a small trail that leads past a couple of boulders, stop and try the boulder problems if you're a rock climber, otherwise continue down the narrow trail and head up the creek. You'll need some decent scrambling skills to continue about a mile up the creek to the falls. Tread lightly and respect the ecosystem, pack out your trash and keep this beautiful hike open for others.

If you take the East Fork Cold Spring Canyon from the trailhead, you can follow a 2.2 mile loop that offers expansive views of Santa Barbara. Be careful; the trail has several turnoffs and spurs. To stay on the loop, you mostly want to stick to the right (if you are taking the loop clockwise).

One of the more accessible hikes in Montecito. The trail offers a great view after very little hiking but you got the option to keep hiking farther up and in for more panoramic views. It can get difficult if you stick with it the whole way but very worth it. The mudslides blew out the bridge so the best way to get there now is via Olive Mill to E Mountain Dr. The trail says its closed but its been well used recently with an easy trail path to follow. Give it a go and you'll be mindblown by the destruction that the...
