This was my 1st time stopping here it is very nice peaceful clean there are many people but it seems to be they have a little more common sense than other places I have visited because they were throwing their trash away and keeping it clean other people go and just throw trash anywhere expecting Rangers to clean it up which is not cool but it's a very tranquil place the redwoods look very beautiful

What an experience, we find this place right in the middle of the California 1, in Big Sur Park, you don't need to stay in the lodge, just to come and walk around and have a beer or a drink in the deck right beside the big red trees!! This place is amazing!! Next time we definitely will stay at least one night to enjoy a dinner and a deck illuminated!!

Small wood decking area around a cluster of redwoods. Its nice to get so close to such huge trees. A bit of a connector between the lodge, parking area and trails. You are also close to the main road in and out of the park so be careful stepping off the path.

A lot of history to see here. And I'm specifically talking about the redwoods that grow here. The roots for some of these trees are massive and that's evidence of how many centuries these trees have existed. The canopy is tall and provide plenty of shade and the forest floor is something to enjoy for 10 minutes our so. I mean, take some time to find a spot to sit with your loved one, family, friends and enjoy a moment amongst these massive greats. How many times can you say you had a chance to sit with something that's 2+ centuries old.

Soak...

There are some impressively large redwoods at this site. It’s worth making the stop. There’s also a nice gift shop here. You can drive through a bit further and pay the entrance fee, and go into the park for day use, etc. We at at some picnic tables at a day use site, and walk around on the trails a bit, afterward. It’s a nice place. It seems like there’s some potential for long hikes and backpacking up in the...
