Ones involved with this water park need to act like responsible adults, not whiners. Just about every business in River Region points blame at COVID-19 for their financial setbacks, but what if the pandemic did not occur who or what ones going blame then. Face truth this board over this Montgomery Whitewater Park did not do their pre-planning budget prior to construction; and, who is the nut pointing blame at inflation and tariffs. The park was open and operational before D. Trump took office, plus inflation has been around USA for over 90 years. When politicians and bureaucrats stop hiding from truths they'll learn honesty goes along ways, and will not have to rely upon *white money" as one man put it to keep Montgomery going forward. What Alabama needs in these upcoming office seats is changes where ones who aren't afraid to led Alabama, not whine about small stuff that happens all over the country. A leader does not confer with others, a leader does not tell another to go to Hell for asking a question then voice his opinion over his stupid remark in public neither. Alabama does not need any politician as its governor if one cannot carry oneself like a leader, besides we need young minds in government. Young leadership is in dire need for wholly Alabama, not for seniors who rather not face reality that their minds and bodies are not 30' ish anymore. And, stop whining about issues ones has no control over. Learn to emphasize, adapt, fix the problem so everyone can enjoy entertainment without political rhetoric. Finally point overheard from a Montgomery AL council member pointing direct blame of his 12 year old son's addiction that culprit came from a vape shop. Typical politician hiding from truth that just maybe his son's addiction came from a father who did not take parenthood serious. Too many parents do not take time for their kids and that's a damn shame because you're only a kid once, but golf and TV has not changed that much, but children do, and children don't forget those times alone. Old Alabama country saying - "A family that prays together usually...
Read moreMy teen enjoyed the July summer youth camp so much that we signed up for the fall/September sessions as well, great for homeschoolers & any kid 10-17 years old as it offers 2 hours on Sunday (12-2pm) and 2 hours on Thursday (3-5 pm)! All supplies are included for the lessons and it’s a great way to learn as a group.
The fall sessions are smaller than the summer youth classes so it’s a great way to pay discounted group lesson rate while feeling like an almost private lesson. They learn so much so quickly the kids seem to catch on at a great pace and instructors are great!
My son personally loved the very helpful body position tips from Paul as his instructor. He felt like it helped him figure out body positioning and movements best with Paul.
Wes he says has one of the most fun personalities to learn with as he is goofy and keeps things light but great to learn from, he makes my son laugh the most.
Both Emily’s my son enjoys taking lessons from (blonde/pink hair Emily was one of his favorites from summer camp), the other Emily has been his regular instructor this fall and very patient and excellent with fine tuning learning how to roll, practicing over and over again. She keeps him focused and is professional and talks things through clearly with him, taking the time to go back and look at problem areas and discussing what “lines” to do air and why etc
Every person brings something different and unique to the table to learn from and it’s been a great team of instructors they have here!
Gem in the Outfitters store & registration has gone above and beyond working out the kinks and handling paperwork, registration, checking us in etc. she remembers names very well of guests and that makes being here all the more personal and welcoming.
They are military friendly!
We love this new sport for our son since downhill Mountain biking isn’t as available here as it was in Colorado, and this place gives someplace to fill that void on too hot to bike ride days, but now my son is addicted to kayaking and wanted to be on the water as much...
Read morefirst thing I walked into the outfitter to look at equipment and was greeted by 4 ladies. After a few minutes I heard someone yelling and thought they were yelling at someone walking in the door. I was looking at merchandise and the yelling got louder and louder and eventually a lady came from behind the counter yelling very loudly. I looked up and the lady, Gem was standing beside me yelling, "sir may I help you?" I told her no and let her know I thought she had to be yelling at someone else and thought she couldn't have been yelling at me from across the store. Incredibly BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Later I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink, $18.50. They gave me a beeper and I sat on the porch to watch the kayakers. It seemed like it was taking a long time but I thought they might be busy. Then the family who ordered in front of me got up after finishing their meal. I went inside to ask and saw what looked like my order sitting at the edge of the counter in front of all the people picking up their orders. I asked the lady and she didn't know anything and got a man to help. He said your beeper must not have gone off and went to get the manager, Cen. The lady said the manager would probably comp my meal since this happens a lot. The man said here, this one's yours, when I felt the fries they were cold. He offered another but said it would take 30 minutes. When Cen came I asked for a refund. She spent 5 minutes trying to find my order in their system even though she had the number on my beeper. I left with a credit to my card. Cen never apologized or offended anything. What bothered me was my order sat there for 30 minutes and no one questioned it, also the outside waiter saw me sitting with no order and never questioned it. My first and last trip to a facility that...
