It's a small three-quarter of a mile park that has a very clear and easy to follow walking path. There is a section of tall grass and a section of forest. There are many birds here as the park's service has installed a multitude of birdhouses. The path is mostly dirt or sand which makes it difficult to walk if has has been raining.
My only dislikes are really that it is too small and even though Monticello is not a bustling city, the traffic is near enough and loud enough to drown out the natural voice of the environment. Its good for a short walk or a different background if jogging but get used to going in a repetitive loop and seeing the same sights over and over if you frequent this...
Read moreMy family and I love to go for either a walk or bike ride here regularly when the weather is nice. It's also pet friendly so we will sometimes bring our dogs. It's not uncommon to see deer and other wildlife and there's a little box library u can donate and take books from. You might even find some painted rocks- my kid loves the painted rocks... It's one of my favorite go-tos when my littles need to get off the couch and out of the house! I wish it were bigger but other than that it's a very nice park.
