What can I say about Lake Perris frat house? If you value a nice peaceful time with nature, go far from here. Veteran Disclaimer: if you have PTSD, DO NOT GO HERE! There are rules, but no enforcement whatsoever, so if you like to be obnoxiously loud past midnight, this is your spot. And this is every night of the week, not just weekends. If you have 0 human decency, you'll fit right in. Places that are better than Lake Perris campground are: Any other place with the word "Lake" and/or "Campground."I am writing this review from the campground after 1 decent night and 4 nights of no sleep. It is currently 10am and there has been music blasting nonstop since 8pm last night from multiple directions. The rules state "NO SOUND SHOULD LEAVE YOUR SITE BETWEEN 10PM AND 6AM," but no one enforces it, so there's effectively no rules. I am here to get rested, and I have gotten no rest, so you get 1 star. The star rating I give is based from their attempts to enforce their own rules: the least amount possible. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Update They DO enforce rules. It's a miracle. But since they don't post the phone number to the park ranger on any paperwork or anywhere on the campground, there is a multi-step process. I also can't find it online, so they do a very good job at hiding it. Step 1: Find and harness your inner Karen. Step 2: Call Perris Police station after 10pm. Step 3: Use automated system to speak to dispatcher. Step 4: Ask them to transfer you to Lake Perris Park Security. The lady on the phone was understanding, patient, and pleasant, even though I was not so much. By the end of the phone call, she was able to manage the situation and my emotions, which isn't easy. Also, the security officer she sent to the campsite had the situation handled in 10 minutes. He drove by their site, they turned the music off, he drove away, they immediately started the music again while park security was still within earshot (How dumb can you possibly be?), security came right back, drove by their site, and that was the end of the music. Hallelujah, finally some sleep! Conclusion I appreciate the efforts of the lady on the phone from Park Security and the security officer who drove through the campground. The staff at the campground entrance refused to give the number to security multiple times. Instead they gave me 2 different numbers that just ring back to the campground entrance office, which is not open during quiet hours, so they are 100% putting effort toward hiding the park security contact info. Other than the call I made to security, there was not 1 patrol through the campgrounds during quiet time. The only time I've seen security in the week I've been here is when checkout time happens and a couple patrols in the daytime. The security officers go through the trash to get recyclables after campers checkout. All this happening around you and that's where you put your effort? The staff who cleans the restrooms does a terrible job. Any review of this place that says it has clean restrooms is a lie. They clean up the loose toilet paper on the ground and call it a day. I will be changing this from 0 to 2 stars, based solely on the efforts of the security office lady and the security officer she sent to patrol. Either do your job during quiet hours or at least put the security office number on the paperwork that states the campground rules. But I should not have to jump through all these hoops just to get you to do your job when I know you can hear the music easily from halfway across the entire park. So as it stands, I can not give Lake Perris Campground more...

Stayed here last November for a week down in the hookup area which is just a parking lot. Made the mistake of being here on a holiday. We were here later in the month this year and place was nearly deserted during the week. This time we stayed up in the dry-camping Quail Loop. We reserved site 52 but due to a large tree blocking all my solar we took site 50 instead where we got great solar power and satellite service. Drove up to the front and they switched me without an issue. The site, like the roads, has potholes that no one fixes. Site was so sloped that I had to put the front all the way down as far as the legs would go. The bathroom building that is 50 feet from our site is locked. Had to walk down to the next loop. Which were as per usual for this park dirty and useless. They hose down the bathrooms so the TP gets soaked and hardens on the roll. Holes in the walls with water going inside the walls so there is mold growing inside for sure. The shower in the men's would not turn on, rusted shut. We ended up just using our onboard facilities. The reason we chose the dry loops is that the hook-up sites are not only parking spaces, but those sites fill up with drunken locals who plug in their stereos and karaoke machines and blare their mariachi and thumping gang music. Last year I had to call 911 at midnight because of the noise. State park police did respond but they are lazy, didn't make any arrests or issue any tickets. Just made people turn off their music. But they were still noisy past 1am. The Quail loop has 56 sites and only three sites were occupied when we were here. There is trash on the ground everywhere you look. Based on the beer caps laying around, and my experience last year, the number one activity here is...

If you’re hoping for a peaceful time enjoying nature with your family, I don’t recommend coming here, at least on the weekend. This is 100% a party campground. While the park staff and maintenance provided great customer service, especially under the circumstances they were under, most campers here lacked common courtesy. Noise restrictions aren’t followed or enforced as music was loudly played past midnight. During the day, it’s a battle of who can play their music the loudest to drown out everyone else’s music. Our site, 358 in the Bobcat loop (which seemed to be the calmest loop), was near the restroom and we constantly had to ask people to walk around and not straight through our site. At night, it sounds you’re in the middle of a racetrack. Even during the day, several people speed through the campground, right next to campsites and kids playing. After yelling at one car to slow down as they sped past, one guy even had the audacity to get out of his car and threaten to knock me out. One neighbor didn’t bother to monitor their chihuahua as it ran around to other sites and left droppings and peed everywhere, even on their own tent. Despite numerous attempts to get a park ranger to come out to talk to the neighbor, none ever came, likely because they were dealing with a ton of other issues. We ultimately decided to leave after one terrible night and day. Thankfully, the park staff were understanding and willing to give a refund for our last two reserved days. For this reason only, I...

My family enjoyed their time at this campground. We stayed at the far end of Quail Loop, which seemed better than being surrounded by other campers. The beach was a walkable distance, with the other beach and the marina store were a short drive away. The marina store also does campsite delivery which is pretty neat. It got pretty hot mid day so bring shade and lots of sunblock. A lot of other people mentioned litter and the noise late at night. The campground itself is fairly clean. We did find some trash in the water while we were swimming. And a lot of the occupied campsites had some very messy people in it who had trash all over the place. The bathrooms are cleaned once or twice a day, but on the busy days they can get pretty dirty by the evening. BRING SOME TOLIET PAPER. As for the noise, I did hear one of their patrol cars go by around 10pm ad make an announcement that it was time for quiet hours. This could not be heard over the noise a lot of the campsites were making as they only drove by the front of each site. So if you are a light sleeper or unable to sleep through noise, maybe bring some earplugs. We did hear a pack of coyotes run through or near by the campsite so that was pretty cool. We would have loved to tour the museum, but it ended up being closed, which was not posted anywhere on their Instagram or the campsites other than a paper sign on the museum doors. Overall, I would return. It would be nice for people to clean up after their selves when they are camping.

My rating here is so confused! On the one hand... I LOVE THIS PLACE! The scenery, the wildlife, the gorgeous lake and wonderful fishing and camping sites, makes it a total No-brainer, for most experienced campers. Besides being a State Parks camp, this is an ideal location for fishing and hunting the local game, or just hiking and taking photos of the changing flora. On the other hand... this is a very large and very busy Campground! They need more Rangers and they really NEED to enforce their rules, especially the quiet time! I get that people are here to have a good time, and I'm okay with their loud music during the day. But after 11pm, everyone should have to keep their noise within their own camp! I shouldn't be listening to competing groups of campers trying to overplay each others music at 1am in the morning! And I'm not exaggerating at all. One night it was after 2am before it quieted down. During the week it's not so bad, but even then it's not quiet at 10:00, when quiet time is supposed to start. What about the families with little kids that don't want to sleep, when they can hear everyone up all night having fun! What about the older folks who have trouble sleeping anyways! They finally get to sleep, and are woke up a half hour later by uproarious laughter and music turned up way too high to even sound good!
