Morgantown Ice Arena — Attraction in Morgantown

Drove an hour and half to take my daughter ice skating for her birthday only to be told that public skating ended at noon. When I replied that website said public skating started at 2:30 pm, I was told that the site was wrong and Google wouldn’t change it. I was told that Google had been contacted multiple times and they would not fix the discrepancy. I was told they were sorry, we were the 7th group they had turned away that day. This rink is pretty old. It smells like old building and hockey. The lobby is pretty small, the locker room was basically a shed in the corner of the building. There is seating, in by the rink is pretty cold. There isn't any seating near center ice because they have small goals stored and the door to bring the zam in so seating is down the sides and ends. There are pillars all down the sides so it makes it difficult to see anything going on other than right where you stand. Been here many times to watch WVU hockey D1 and D2 teams plus the local roller derby team. There are bad seats in the arena due to the supports. Plus people tend to stand in the way when they can. The arena appears to be managed by high schoolers who have messed up. The one time they ran the propane to empty on the Zamboni while cleaning the ice. It ended up putting a large divot in the ice to the point they had to cancel the hockey game. Older building that is left to be run by high schoolers who dont all care about the place. Like...
