Wow what a memory: this was my first rails to trails experience (old Rockaway Valley Rail short-line). I remember when they opened it and all the new kid adventures had along it: biking, fishing, wildlife, junk archeological expeditions (especially back when the county facility sewer plant would just push things to the back and they just disappeared into the river - 1970s management) and seeing old cars (1960s Nash Metropolitan and 1940s Pontiac) that had been abandoned before the trail was opened.
