I have mixed feeling about this place. As the drive in and property were beautiful. I have to say I was a bit caught of guard and disappointed to find out the tasting room was in someone’s basement and backyard. I came here with 5 of my other friends with high expectations as pictures show. However, pictures do not show the tasting room being at someone’s house nor does the website state that it is. While the house and backyard was beautiful it was not what you would expect when you think “vineyard” or “tasting room”. Michael the man who did our tasting said the owners are building the tasting room in the barn (shown in pictures). I would like to return to check out the place once completed as the property was beautiful and wine tasted great!
I felt that it was misleading when driving up to someone’s house and feeling like I was In the wrong location as my group was the only one there. Had I known previously what I was walking in to, I would’ve chosen a different location. The feeling I walked out on was I spent all this money on something I easily could’ve done in my back yard (ex. Drink a bottle of wine and relax).
While I might of been a bit disappointed in terms of location I believe the new tasting room in the barn will be beautiful and will have lots of potential. I hope one day to return with a better...
Read moreViews and tasting room are beautiful. The wine overall is also good, however, I’m giving 3 stars due to staff and experience. I’d suggest to not go on a holiday as you’re rushed, can’t ask any questions and must know what you want the moment they ask, even if you’re still browsing. We purchased a bottle and I’d also suggest to bring a cooler or insulated bag as they don’t provide you with a wine chiller to keep your bottle cold. So depending on the wine, you pay $28-42, for your wine to then get warm. When we asked if they had one, the girl (didn’t catch her name unfortunately but brown hair) was extremely rude, sarcastically laughed and said no, but they have some to keep their wine cold. Well, good for you I guess? Michael was also extremely rude. Young girls were blocking his way and he very loudly yelled “excuse me”, and the whole tasting room could hear him. Rude, rushed and disorganized. I’d suggest going to sugarloaf winery or linganore...
Read moreThe winery and the tasting room was beautiful. My husband and I each got a flight, but didn’t like them being served in plastic cups and thought it affected the taste of the wine. Everything tasted the same. We tried a bottle of what we liked the most and WOW what a difference it made in the taste drinking out of glass. The goat cheese and crackers we had were really good too. A cheese knife was provided which was a plus and appreciated.
My biggest complaint was the staff. Jess was friendly and attentive. However I witnessed a passive-aggressive interaction with an employee M. and other customers. Then, when I went inside to close my tab, I was ignored (except by Jess) because the other employees were too busy discussing the interaction between the customers and employee M. It seemed unprofessional and a little bit...
