Pirate's Cove at Mount Playmore — Attraction in Mount Olive

Its a nice way to cool off for town residents however the splash pad has its faults. Theres only 1 life guard. There should be one on each end if you ask me so every piece of ground is covered. Alot of them are on their phones. Multiple times i have been there, there has been at least 1 kid screaming lost for their mother. No concern at all from the lifeguard to at least help them. The blue concrete itself is dangerous. My kids and i have seen others slip even walking and bang their heads. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen. They really should have made the splash floor a saftey rubberized like the park. They offer bathrooms. Sonewhat clean, someone can scope it out and clean it out every couple minutes. I really like this place! My friends and their children visited this establishment on a Tuesday when it was 80 degrees. Water was cold at the splash park but the children didn't care! They had a blast. On the other side was 2 separate playgrounds (one for toddlers and the other one for older children). There were 3 one stall, unisex bathrooms (not often cleaned) but spacious enough to fit a family of 5 in each one! I loved that they had chairs and benches for parents to sit and watch their children. There was plenty of parking. Walmart, Applebees, Panera Bread, Old Navy, Micheals, Wendys, McDonalds, Chilis, Lowes and a host of other stores were about 7 minutes away from the establishment. Splashpark is inside TurkeyBrook Park; mostly geared for the younger ones, but they do have the water bucket drop for the older ones. Limited places to sit inside the splashpad, but they do have benches and gazebos nearby. Ice cream truck shows up multiple times a day!
