My daughter had her wedding at this venue in June. It is a very nice facility, however we were disappointed in a few aspects of our overall experience. Unfortunately for us, both owners/people who run the weddings were out of town and unreachable for our special day. They did have people to fill in, but this did negatively impact us, and we experienced some glitches that I believe wouldn't have happened if one of them were present. The linen company they recommended fell through with late delivery time and missing items that were paid for. Unfortunately our cater didn't provide servers, so we paid for some through the venue. For the most part, they were young teenagers in street clothes that were totally overwhelmed with clearing dishes for this many guests. We paid in advance for the alcohol to be served. At the end of the night there was some that was unopened and unused that the bartenders didn't return to us.The owner did acknowledge this, and agreed to refund us. However, she never followed through. Unfortunately after a very busy cleanup at the end of the night, we pulled out forgetting to grab the leftover food from our catering. I reached out about it first thing the next morning and made the trip back to Mt. Orab to pick it up only to find that the workers had taken most (4 plus trays) of our smoked meat and sides when they left. I realize we pulled out without it, but we paid for it and this wasn't right. Again, she offered to "make this right", but did nothing and never followed through. I have reached out to her several times to follow up since we spoke about our issues, but have been ignored. At the end of the day, my daughter planned and executed a beautiful wedding at this venue. However, I believe they could certainly improve with managing this facility and the way they serve their...
Read moreI had my wedding and reception here on 10/01 and I will say the venue is beautiful but not worth the hassle of dealing with the people who run it. They have TERRIBLE communication. I booked this venue 2 years in advance. They do not tell you when payments or anything are due, don’t send reminders or check ins and then demand payment asap when you email them with questions. No one contacted me for our 30 day meeting check in and I had to call and email repeatedly to get any responses from Jodi the owner. Jodi literally told us at our meeting that someone would unlock the venue for us at 8am and the venue would be ours all day, calls me the morning of my wedding day and says if no one arrives before 9:30 then they are locking the venue. We had never discussed that there was a set time we needed to be there by. She told me she would set up a mimosa bar for us and didn’t. Additionally, no staff members stay for the preparation of your wedding it’s all on your or your wedding planner. Don’t expect any help from the venue at all or be able to contact any one. It was very convenient to be able to purchase the alcohol through the venue but as of today (2/14) Jodi STILL has not contacted me to this day to let me know if there was any refund for the unused alcohol. I had to hound her repeatedly to get my security deposit refunded. Literally beautiful establishment, I loved it but NOT worth the headache and disorganization, go to a professional place that hosts weddings all the time and that respond in a timely manner and you will be...
Read moreSo I had my wedding here, absolutely beautiful venue. 5 stars on that. The reason I gave 3 stars;
1.) For the price you pay, I feel like you should have full service. (Helping clean up, filling water glasses, helping stack chairs at the end of the night. Etc) They set the tables and chairs up, and bar tender service you at the bar. When asked to fill water glasses, they said no. When it came to cleaning up at night, they told my mom she needed to stack the chair on the tables (they didn’t even bother to help) We hired extra help on our own (which they knew) and we had a petal toss as we walked down the aisle, in the middle of my wedding they came to find my mom and tell her she needed to rake up the petals (could’ve just went and told the extra help we hired)
2.) We paid a $500 deposit and only received $250 back (we cleaned every mess up so not sure why we did not receive full $500.) We did not have a rowdy crowd, as only about 40% of the people attending were drinking, so it’s not like anything got crazy.
3.) We paid $2500 for the night, but you had to pay extra for the grooms cabin ($200) which seemed a bit ridiculous.
4.) Now, Jodi (the owner) was pleasant to work with, but I guess we didn’t realize she would leave before set up was completely done (not really a big deal, but if we had a question we kind of just had to figure it out on our own) just something people should know before booking.
In conclusion, the venue is absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure I would recommend to a couple looking for...
