We throughly enjoyed our visit at the Sisson Museum today. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I learned so much about local history, and our children (ages 6 and 9) were so engaged with the many hands-on activities that they didn’t want to leave! They especially enjoyed the mountain tunnel and rocks/minerals interactive display, as well as the DIY puppet show, dress up area, locomotive simulation, and earthquake engineering game. I enjoyed reading binders with first hand accounts related to local schools and bear encounter stories. Feeding the trout in the hatchery before departing was the cherry on top of an enriching morning. Oh, and did I mention there is also a beautiful picnic area where we enjoyed a meal? We hope to...

What a delight to stop at this little museum and fish hatchery! It contains so much more than what it appears from the outside. The museum is chock-full of local history of the area which we found amazing. From the early lumbering to the railroad to the skiing industry, it was all fascinating. If you have children and especially little ones, there is an abundance of things to play with that would make a totally fun day. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Add on a trip to the fish hatchery next door where you can see trout in various stages and feed them for FREE! If you are a tourist, you...

Wow! I didn’t expect to be so impressed by this place.

I’m truly blown away by how wonderful the museum is. The staff were so welcoming, warm, and helpful. We had two young kids with us, and the staff took the time to show them around and explain things very patiently. We also asked about other tourist attractions in the area, and they gave us great recommendations.

The museum itself is super cute — there’s so much to see, touch, and learn. It’s both educational and fun, and the kids loved it.

I highly recommend stopping by, even if you don’t have kids. What a...

Parents of 1 and 3 year old. Wet day outside. Got here at 10am and wasn't sure what to expect based off the website. Now we know, this is the place to go with kiddos (or just adults) on poor weather days! So much for the kids to do. Steve was super knowledgeable and helpful. But again, the kids, they had so much to play with and explore. Caves, activity room, dress up, trains, fire truck, lots of kids toys like electric circuit sets. We were there for 1 hr but totally could've stayed longer if not for nap time.
