While there are some very kind and Christlike professors and students here, I don't agree with how numerous situations were handled. Things were swept under the rug under the guise of Christian virtue. Reports taken to campus security or the campus pastors were hushed up or shooed away. The campus pastor cared more about plastering the school with diversity and inclusivity and "wokeness" then actually upholding Nazarene values. Funds are almost entirely funnelled into sports. While that is true that it makes them money, there have been ceiling panels in the science building that have not been fixed my entire duration at the school.
Additionally, not only have I heard of many of my close friends and classmates being lied to by the establishment and many within leadership, but I have experienced this myself.
I honestly wish I would have gone somewhere else. If going here, please do your research on what alum from your program say.
Edit: if going into chemistry, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Since graduating, I have only discovered more and more of how professors are allowed to get away with clear violations of the codes of conduct the school supposedly has. I, as well as other students I know, have been bullied by a professor and when we brought these to attention, they were brushed aside. Recently, another graduate informed me that they were approaching the school about their work being plagiarized. The outcome has been extremely frustrating. The alum was told they were immature in getting upset with the plagiarism and that they were unlawfully deleting personal research from their OneDrive account after finding the professor directly copying and pasting from the documents. Until the school can own up to it's mistakes and rectify the situation, I strongly warn against this program...
Read moreI first showed up at MVNU as a transfer student. There were problems with some credits transferring (to no fault of MVNU) and thus the amount of financial aid I could receive. I was ready to pack up and go home. They assured me they would help me get everything worked out, to go unpack get settled in and we would figure it out together. They held true to their promise and things could not have turned out better. My time at MVNU were the best academic and spiritually growing years of my life. I am very grateful for MVNU's level of care and commitment to their students and would highly recommend...
Read moreWhile experiences may vary depending upon each student's efforts, a quality faith-friendly education can be obtained at this University. The campus is lovely in every season, the staff is friendly and helpful, the professors are knowledgeable and personable, and the extracurricular activities promote a strong sense of religious and civic duty. In my personal experience, the History Department and the Thorne Library are top-quality. Financial aid is often made...
