Okay, I'm technically writing this for next year since Tulip Town is already closed for the season but wow, I'm so glad we caught it during the last weekend of blooms! Highly highly recommend visiting toward the end of the season if you can. The flowers were at peak bloom and the fields were just exploding with color. Honestly stunning!
One of the biggest reasons we picked this spot over others is because it's dog friendly, and they really mean it. No side eye, no restrictions, no entry fee. Our dogs were running around ( on leashes of course!), exploring every corner, even hopping on the tractor ride with us (yes, there's a tractor ride that loops around the field and it's such a fun way to see the whole space. Dogs welcome!).
The ticket setup is also a win. You can buy a pass that gets you into both Tulip Town and their sister farm (Skagit something, about 15 minutes south), so it's a great value if you want to make a full tulip day out of it.
Another reason I liked this farm? It wasn't chaos. No massive lines or shoulder to shoulder crowds, and once you're done frolicking through the tulips and taking way too many photos, you've got options to grab a bite, shop, or chill in the beer garden.
And I've got to say I agree with other reviews. These were hands down the cleanest, best smelling porta potties I've ever used in my life. Big thumbs up for that level of care and cleanliness.
Just a tip: go on a sunny day if you can. We got lucky with beautiful blue skies and it made everything pop. I can't imagine it having quite the same magic on an overcast or rainy day. Parking was a breeze too. Lots of staff helping keep everything flowing so you're not stuck in a field somewhere wondering what to do.
All in all, if you're heading to the Tulip Festival, Tulip Town in should definitely be on your...
Read more2 stars because of previous good experiences but 2023 was just awful First I want to start with the positives -When we visited in 2021 there was practically no crowd, and the fields were large and beautiful, plenty of room to spread out. It was also pretty quiet and peaceful. -The shops inside the barn were decently priced, still a bit on the expensive side but nothing too crazy. They had a good selection of items, and the gift shop at the end of the barn was really cute. -The Animal Crossing theme was super cute, and much appreciated. The negatives -Traffic. We had the worst experience in 2023 trying to get to Tulip Town. I normally live about 45min away from Tulip Town, it took 3 hours to get here on a sunny weekend. 1 hour alone was spent less than a mile away from Tulip Town. By the time we got there we were mad, and then had to wait another 30 minutes to get into Tulip Town via the ticket gate. The trip home took another 2 hours, so by the end of the weekend I was absolutely exhausted. -Over crowding. Obviously because it took 3.5 hours to get into Tulip Town. Tickets need to be capped or something because there is not enough infrastructure to support so many people trying to visit. -The rows. I respect that the business doesn’t want people walking between the rows, but maybe you should put up some fencing instead of screaming over microphone for people to get out of the rows. Clearly the signage and yelling at people wasn’t working, so try something different? The last thing after a 3.5 hr trip to get here is to have my ear blasted with someone saying “get out of the rows!” -Shops. Everything has really skyrocketed in price, we didn’t buy any souvenirs because everything was ridiculously expensive. This includes food. Please cap ticket sales...
Read moreBasic Ticket prices are nearly the same at all three farms - $15 online and $17 at the gate here- and the tulip blooms are dependent on the weather. At least this year you can see the fields (more or less) from the entrance gate and make a decision on whether to go. Plus they give a guesstimate of the percentage of current bloom. That being said, It can certainly be disappointing to arrive with little blooming in the field. Tulip Town does have a nice display garden with windmill and waterwheel, as well as some decorative displays with old trucks. They also decorate the inside of the barn with a gigantic painting and floral displays. It is quite pretty.
Inside the barn they also have a beer garden, merch and gift shop, and small cafe. I didn't indulge in any of those so I can't comment, but I did notice the soft pretzel was $10. Oh, and of course they have cut tulips and potted bulbs for sale.
The tulip field itself is small but compact, with several main aisles for you to walk down. Walking between the rows of tulips (off e designated path) will damage the bulbs, and doing so will earn you a correction by the field monitor staff. There are several props around the field like a picture frame and a swing, as well as a platform, to help you get the perfect shot.
Dogs are allowed at no additional cost (as of 2023) and poop bags are provided.
