I do not even know what to say. The Ohio river. Thousands of dead fish. All types. In the water, the shore, and so on. I don't even really know if you can consider this a otter creek issue but I know it is a Kentucky issue. How does it feel knowing the state is known for the most disgusting polluted river in the east U.S.? They stock the rivers and ponds every year but why does it matter when this water seeps into it? Why stock trout when you can't eat it because it's so poisoned. This is why all the wild life has mange and sickness. This is why the area is dying. Kentucky has signage and statements everywhere concerning the water ways needing to stay clean but there is always boil advisories. And they don't care about the factories dumping, the run off, the bureaucracy that clears deals dangerous and uncaring for the enviroment. it's sad, it's disgusting. The news will never do anything about it because they do not care. The majority of individuals do not care because they live in cities or on their rolling hills. This has been an issue for decades. To quote, "Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, and the last stream poisoned, will the white man realize he cannot eat money." I hope I see in my lifetime, that people become educated, people care, this part of the U.S. is cleaned up, through local, state, and federal government actually do something impactful for this enviroment, and this...

This place is amazing and beautiful! They have miles of hiking trails, horse trails and there are several places to fish. The Blue Hole is a beautiful spot to take a dip in the creek on a hot summer day, or to take your kayak out onto the creek. Otter Lake is also another great spot for fishing and swimming. The primitive campsites are spacious and cozy. The staff is amazing, and they truly go above and beyond for the guest. They have so many activities for the entire family. Last night they came around on a golf cart and invited all the guest to a movie and popcorn. I thought that was pretty cool!

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars, was because the camp’s 10pm quiet time rule wasn’t respected by some folks. Both nights We were were kept awake until 5:30am and then 2am due to intoxicated people being loud and obnoxious. But Tracy and Kyle gave us a free night for the inconvenience, and they did everything in their power to make sure the problem was taken care of. And that was appreciated.

We will definitely be back, just not on a holiday weekend when people are drinking into the wee hours of the morning. But if you’ve not been to this place, I highly recommend going!! You will not be disappointed!!! We are already planning our next visit, and are looking forward to coming back.

Signage leading to the campground from the highway is minimal at best. We passed it the first time and had to drive several miles. When we arrived at the gatehouse, the gentleman was unfamiliar with the campground, although he was aware that it existed. After checking in, our first campsite was difficult to get into and unlevel in both directions. We asked for another site and got one that was easier to get into and not as unlevel. After setting update relaxing for several hours, we got a loud knock on the door. A man was standing outside and he loudly announced we had a leak at our house and had to fix it. He then drove away on his golf cart. I went to look at the faucet and indeed did see lots of water. Upon further inspection I discovered that it was the valve that was leaking, not our hose. I used a pair of pliers to tighten the valve nut and that seemed to correct the issue. Our immediate neighbor consisted of an old ru down trailer and truck with no muffler. It appears they are living here and have for some time. I don't believe we'll be visiting this...
