Lake Blue Ridge Day Use Area — Attraction in Murphy

Lake bottom is all red Georgia clay here. No good fishing because there were 4 or 5 other groups of people with splashing kids. Water was quite warm. Fine for swimming. Good area for smaller kids as long as supervised because of the sticky bottom. At least one large grill and 5ish picnic tables, plus a few benches. It’s a very pretty lake with lots of things to do : hiking , boating / kayaking etc , fishin or just hanging out. I only gave it 4 stars because of no restrooms ( or porta potties ) and lack of picnic tables or areas . I had my friend with me and while I love to backpack and hike , she can’t. So the consideration of the above would be awesome for someone who has a difficult time...

It was a nice area with some trees to be in the shade. There are a few picnic tables as well. Even though there were trash cans available, we were cleaning up trash left behind.
