Exceptional Wine Tasting Experience at the Napa Valley Tasting Barn – A Must-Visit!

I recently took a trip to Napa Valley and had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Napa Valley Tasting Barn—and I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience exceeded expectations. The setting was breathtaking, with panoramic views that perfectly captured the beauty of Napa. It felt like a scene straight out of a wine country postcard.

The real highlight, though, was the service. Our server, Tamara, was nothing short of phenomenal. She was warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire tasting experience unforgettable. She walked us through several exceptional wines, educating us on the different varietals and the unique regions they came from. Her passion and expertise made the tasting feel personal and elevated.

The charcuterie board paired perfectly with our wines, adding another layer of enjoyment to the visit. Every detail—from the presentation to the pacing of the tasting—was thoughtfully curated. You can tell the staff truly cares about creating a meaningful and memorable experience for each guest.

This was a 10 out of 10 across the board. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just someone looking to enjoy a relaxing and educational afternoon in Napa, the Napa Valley Tasting Barn is a must-visit. And if you’re lucky enough to have Tamara as your server, you’re in for a truly top-tier experience. I will...

The was an interesting place. And we debated after if we really enjoyed it.

The owners son in law was from Sweden, he seemed to be sad that he worked there. He kept referencing the fact that it was his father in laws Bill’s winery and he “just worked there.” I wanted to give him a hug and tell him to go find his passion. He also offered to show us his wife’s Art at the end of the tasting but never did.

There were three flights on the menu but he informed us we could not taste them and that he would be “curating” tasting.

The Pinot that was poured was sub-par at best, he kept informing us it was a “Willamette Valley Pinot via Russian River.” Being from the Dundee, I would not label this a Pinot, it tasted more like a blend, and not a great one.

At the end of each pour he did not tell us about the wine, he just said we could customize our order if we joined the club.

At the end of the tasting we told him we were not interested in purchasing any wine, she said “OK bye” just walked away. This was odd and left us feeling a bit unwelcome.

Overall the tasting was just…decent. Nothing to write home about, which would totally be fine if the tasting room host wasn’t so sad. I think it’s a cute location an on old barn/mechanic shop but if you are looking for an out of this world tasting I would recommend Vinters Collective a few...

Had an amazing tasting with David! He was so knowledgeable about the wines, the vineyards up the road and beyond! Excellent representation of Napa Valley red wines, some single vineyard; Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot... Without having to drive there, tasted some of Anderson Valleys finest vineyard's Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Truly a special experience, completely relaxing atmosphere, and no pressure sales. They really just want you to enjoy your experience, hear about all the great projects their wine makers are working on from top notch vineyards showcasing some of the best those varietals have to offer. I really appreciate that they've aged the wine and pour what is showing best NOW, taking the guess work out of aging wine to perfection. You can buy something that is perfectly aged to drink NOW. Open a 2010 Cabernet that will blow your socks off-or someone else's- TONIGHT, not ten years from now!!!! Who else is doing that in the valley? Bonus: there are 2 other wineries sharing the barn space in separate sections. Plan to stay a while! Pro tip for those on a budget or looking for multiple experiences in one area, this location is (paved, accessible) walking distance to other really great wineries and art galleries to minimize the need for transportation! Very...

What a great wine tasting find! We are Bay Area locals and made a last minute trip to Napa and stayed at the Meritage Hotel and Spa. We were seeking a good wine tasting spot nearby and found Prime Solum on a random search and we couldn’t have been happier. The group really enjoyed the Pinot Noir expression 38 2011 - a real surprise on the complexity and drinkability (is that a word). What really made this place special was the staff - very friendly and they understand a tasting should be about the customer experience more than anything! Junior was a delight and our group enjoyed the tasting he provided and the whole personality of the place. This place is the “child winery” of the vineyard developer William Hill - which means delicious local wines. Also the Bordeaux was bold and tasty! Something for everyone in Napa looking for a casual yet refined wine tasting experience.
