It's unique for a city the size of Nashua to have so many green spaces. Greeley Park has been around for decades and is linked to the inner city, while Mine Falls is centrally located with multiple access points close to the Turnpike. But the least known is this one, tucked way down in the furthest south west corner, near Hollis and Dunstable. It's short on facilities, but long on relatively unspoiled natural habitat suitable for walking, hiking and biking.
Keep in mind that this complex is really several parcels of land loosely connected by hiking and biking trails. Get a copy on the maps available online before heading out. With some planning, you can visit it every day without doing the same path twice.
Distance bikers prefer the access to the Rail Trail off of Gilson Road. Mountain bikers like the twisting and turning wood trails in the woods west of the Tanglewood Drive developments. Older walkers might feel more comfortable on the paved paths along Lovewell Pond and heading north from the Dog Park. There's plenty to...
Read moreThis is a super place for biking and hiking. The trails are well marked, though I did not find a map of the trail system posted near the parking lot or along the trails. Seems a bit extreme to me, but maybe there is a good reason...
Read moreIt is a fantastic place to mountain bike. I give it 4.5 stars. It has trails for all skill levels. The only problem is that things are not marked well enough and maps of the area are few and far between.
It would be nice to know how to go. And which direction it is best to travel. The single track is fun, but watch for people going the other way.
A portable toilet is in the parking lot by the ball filed, which is a plus.
Also, many other trails head off from here, including the Nashua River rail trail.
The trail system is vast, full of variety, and so much fun for...
