Rumoured to be one of the most actively haunted cemeteries in the country, the trouble at this burial ground started before it was even a graveyard. Back when colonists first arrived, records suggest that this area was the site of multiple battles with Native Americans. Urban legend will tell us that this area was sacred to the local peoples, and their spirits rise up again and again to stalk the cemetery. Stranger even still are the other stories of the hauntings of Gilson road, like the legend of an insane medicine man, luring Revolutionary War Soldiers to their sacrificial death. These days, orbs, strange lights, apparitions and small ghostly children have all been reported by visitors to Gilson Road. Years after the battles concluded, the stone walls of Gilson Road Cemetery originally surrounded a family farm house. After the house burned down and several family members died, those lost in the fire were buried nearby and a new home constructed. Eerily enough, this new home was also lost to a fire, along with several more members of the family. After the family cemetery grew and grew, the family surrendered the property to be used as a rural cemetery. Local lore tells us that the spirit of Betty Gilson still roams the cemetery, peering out from behind trees, and responding to those who dare to taunt her with a promise of a child. Simple headstones simply marked "Baby Gilson" are laid here as memorials to their children lost in infancy. Nearby is the stone for Walter Gilson, who was just shy of 6 years old when he sadly passed. Oddly someone has taken the time to drill a hole through...

Went there today with my boyfriend we decided to go ghost hunting as we always wanted to. We found this on a website as one of the most haunted places in new hampshire. while we were there, this one section kept making us feel uneasy as someone was watching us in the woods and i saw a red light come from the section of that area. then i heard a faint man scream, back on the footage we saw shadows on the road of like a child or a group of people, going back to the scream i had a bad feeling as it didn’t sound human, and i’m native american so when i heard it i left bc i didn’t wanna deal with it. i saw later that in the comments someone commented about native history and how they look around to protect and it kind of made a little sense to connect to me. now i feel as something is in the car with us or around our car as we did a sport box session and it kept talking about car and perfect parking and i don’t like that feeling : ANOTHER THING before we cleansed ourself we turned the emf reader on and it was buzzing to red, now that we cleansed ourself it’s back to green. this is a weird experience i say try ghost hunting at night if you would want a...

Came across this cemetery in my New Hampshire book of the Dead, we were close by, and stopped in. First off- be careful when going to park, not a lot of room between the street and cemetery. We left our tokens at the front gate, and was very surprised to see very few graves. Unfortunately there clearly has been vandalism, and karma will deal with that. It’s a beautiful spot, especially in fall, it’s unfortunate that most of the grave markers have Barnacles covering names and dates, I don’t know who is in charge or owns the lot, but a power washing would do those stones Justice. As far as Clairaudience, I heard nothing. I felt nothing negative, in fact I felt at peace. I personally feel sadness when acknowledging child passings- but who wouldn’t. I saw nothing out of the ordinary except modern toys left on a toddler from the 1800’s grave. Even though the Gilson, Robbins and Fisk families may have passed in tragic circumstances, I truly believe they can be at peace at this point. As always- I ask permission when photographing a resting place, I felt no resistance. I’m hoping the feather I found was an approval of...
