The Edwin Warner Park system is a gem in Nashville trails, and this main parking area is no exception. You get to pick from a myriad of different trails, from your widely paved path trails to the more hidden, rocky variety embedded throughout the woods. It really depends on how adventurous you're feeling and how much time you have on your hands. If you are choosing a more obscure trail that isn't paved, I highly suggest studying the map carefully and bringing a phone with excellent service just in case you get lost. Better yet, bring a hiking buddy with both as well.
This parking area does get fairly busy on holidays and weekends but is otherwise only moderately full the rest of the time. I would say early morning hikers have it the best here in terms of parking. However, I have yet to experience a day where parking is non-existent (knock on wood), typically because there is overflow parking closer to the nature center.
