Really hate leaving such a review, but felt like my experience should be shared as I'd have never booked a round her had I read a review like this. I'll start with this, the golf course itself, layout, condition, etc is what I expected. It's a solid layout and for winter golf, was in great shape. That's the reason for the second star, nothing else I encountered was even remotely close to deserving the second star. The pace of place was the absolute worst I've ever encountered in my golfing life. I have an extensive background in the golf industry and I understand things like cart path only can make pace a little slower than normal, but an hour to play 3 holes, one being a 135 yard par 3, is ridiculous. We saw the "player assistant" constantly and finally asked him on the 5th tee why the group in front of us was so out of position. He did then go and ask them to speed up, but the damage was done...after taking over 2 hours to complete 7 holes, my wife and I were so fed up with it, that I simply decided to call my $200 I paid to play "money spent and a lesson learned" and made the decision to call it a day. We then decided that since we still had a little time allotted to our day, that we'd sit at the grill and have lunch. I can say the staff at the bar were very polite and great...but the food experience was unimaginable. Again, not trying to be too over the top with negativity, but this is by far the worst food experience I've ever had in relation to expectation vs reality. I feel certain the food was prepared well in advance and then just microwaved to service. We had basic items I figured any decent level golf course could serve easily, and it was atrocious. Chili cheese fries that there was no way the fries were just prepared and the then topped. Chicken quesadilla that was nor better than gas station/frozen meal prepared in a microwave worthy. Potato salad that was obviously put into a single service cup days ago and then pulled out and served. Meanwhile, it was all served on paper plates, with plastic utensils. All in all, I spent $300 for 7 holes of golf at the worst pace I've ever encountered, and a meal I wouldn't rank above a middle of nowhere...
Read moreThis course is absolutely a MUST PLAY in middle Tennessee. From the get go you drive along the entire course and you pull up to an impressive 2 story massive clubhouse. Upon arrival they do have a bag drop area which I suggest you use since it is a little bit of a trek from the parking lot to the actual loading area. The starters and cart workers are always a tad on the brash side but you can get that everywhere. I was there on a very busy day and did request my own cart, which they did oblige, but weren't very happy about it (I paid extra to do this).
The clubhouse workers are very friendly, accommodating and are on top of everything. The pro shop itself is one of the nicest in the area with everything imaginable to purchase if needed. The bar area is nice and a good place to get food/drink.
Now onto the golf. The teetimes are properly spaced out and I had an 11:00 tee time and we started exactly on time. Most courses are very lax about this but I very much appreciate their attention to detail.
This course is a challenging, links style championship golf course and if you haven't ever played here I would recommend pairing up with people who have. I have played here numerous times so I somewhat no the ins and outs of the course. I played with 3 others who were friendly and played at a nice pace.
The fairways are as firm as to be expected for the end of February, the rough is penalizing, but not over bearing, and the greens are lightning fast for this time of year and you absolutely had to be below the hole. Overall, if you live in Nashville or are visiting, this course is one of the best around and you'll be hard pressed to find any place in the immediate...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to play at a highly regarded golf course and wanted to share my experience. While the initial interactions were positive, I can't help but feel slightly disappointed considering the significant amount I paid for the privilege.
Upon arrival, the person who cared for our bag was friendly and accommodating. The starter and beverage personnel were also courteous, which helped set a positive tone for the round. However, as the game progressed, I had hoped for more attentive service.
For the price I paid, I had assumed there would be additional assistance, such as removing my bag from the cart or loading it after the round. Unfortunately, this expectation was not met, and I felt somewhat invisible towards the end of the game. It's disheartening to invest a substantial amount in a golfing experience and not receive the level of service that matches the price tag.
Despite these shortcomings, I must acknowledge the positive aspects of the course. The staff members I encountered at the beginning were professional and provided a warm welcome, which contributed to a pleasant start...
