We were greeted by a friendly older gentleman who was busy tending to arrivals and helping to bus tables to get people seated quickly! Exceptional work!! True team player.
As we sat down at the lower counter two waitresses were fighting with each other and then nobody took our order. Older African American waitress kept fighting with a slightly over weight Caucasian waitress. Pushing her and calling her fat. It was appalling to watch. Then they started fighting about who had the counter service. It was the older African American waitress. Needles to say. She refused to give us service. Another waitress named “slim” happily took our order and it came quickly.
Then another couple sat at our counter - African woman with a Caucasian date and the older waitress quickly took their order. I was appalled at the clear discrimination.
The food was delicious but the display of unprofessionalism was disgusting.
Every time a wait staff came near our area of the counter. She would come right after and count a box of money (assuming they were her tips) to probably make sure no one was stealing them.
When I voiced my concerns to the waitress who graciously took our order. We were apologized to and validated. She was amazing (slim). But then she said our waiter was a gentleman who was clearly working on the other side of the restaurant. Big lie. We are not southern country dumb-folk. But whatever.
We paid. Left her a nice tip for stepping up when her coworkers failed and left with the poorest...
Read moreI was disappointed in visiting this awful waffle location. Took my nephew from California to eat here as he had never been to a waffle house before. Sadly, all the photos I took include me and my nephew, so I'm not posting them because if you are reading this post, then you are interested in the review and now what my nephew and I looks like! Let's get to the gritty... I've been eating specifically cheesesteak omletes old fashioned for over twenty years, and not once was i served that way. I know that the cook doesn't know how to prepare it old fashioned. My nephew got a chocolate chip waffle, and amazingly, only half of the waffle had chocolate chips! This location wasn't busy. I parked right beside the door and sat right away. Hashbrowns were fine, with no mistakes, but i asked for wheat toast and was given white toast and additional wheat toast, which I can assume that I was upcharged. Coffee was fine, bacon okay. He had the all-star breakfast. This is not my first visit to an awful waffle. There are a dozen or so back home, and I've eaten at several in other cities. This could have been the worst one I've been to. Hopefully, this was just a one-off experience. I suspect that I will be back in Opryland again and might have to eat here. I'm just not...
Read moreI see they are hiring. Could use the help. Although half the restaurant was closed off when we were there. There were 3 tables being used. One got up as we came in so we were one of 3 tables to serve. There were 3 employees counting the cook. Took almost 5 minutes for someone to come to us after getting us the table. One person took our drink order. A hot chocolate and an iced tea. Came back with tea and said hot chocolate is on its way. Came back 2 min later and said sorry we don't have any hot chocolate. We only ordered 3 food items and 1 was wrong. When food arrived we asked if we could have silverware. The server turned away, looked around, then spun back and said "I only have one set. I could walk to the other side and more, or you can use plastic. What do you want to do?" We looked at each other confused like, is she serious? The other side? Like 6ft from here other side? Then she repeated. "I can go down and get another set, orrr you can just use plastic. Either one. Your choice. I just said plastic is fine... I guess. So she grabbed two to go sets and said "Don't blame me. Blame 2nd. They were supposed to restock it. Not me." We were just confused and were...
