Two Rivers Mansion is a gorgeous venue for a wedding but the event manager is one of the least professional people I have ever worked with. Tried to reach her via email for a week and made numerous calls for 30 day confirmation, no reply. Wedding day, she harrassed the coordinator all day long, making sure she wasn't violating the rules, slamming doors behind people, arguing with friends trying to set up, accused of damaging the floor (no damage at all) and stealing a table that was simply covered by a linen and sitting outside. You may pay for 8 hours but you will get about 6 1/2 hours of time as she will start telling everyone to start cleaning and the DJ to announce last dance. Raised her fist to a friend trying to pick up a card table that she previously said we could use. Rules say trash bags are supplied, but bring your own, she let us know loudly that we had used all of hers. Sneaked around all day watching everyone, trying to catch guests "breaking the rules". I would have gladly asked her to help herself to some food if she hadnt given everyone such attitude but caught her helping herself anyway. ADA restroom was locked and she had to be chased down to unlock for our elderly guest. (Was then relocked) Attacked me in the kitchen over my husbands voicemail saying he would drive over and knock on the door until someone answered if she didnt call back when we were trying to reach her but the words used by her was "is that your husband whos going to bash my door in". When I voiced my concerns over the days events, she just smirked and said, just preserving the mansion. (Even though theres a gas grill and satellite dish on the second floor balcony) We too want to preserve the mansion, one of our reasons for paying to have the wedding there. No one had ill intent. If its that fragile, dont rent it out for weddings! Coordinator will never do another wedding there. I had read several reviews on her behavior but we decided to take our chances. Just glad my daughter and her husband had a great time and didnt get drug into the situation. Will be contacting Nashville Parks to inform them as well. I would just say...
Read moreI had my wedding at the mansion in May of 2015 it was amazing from the start. Laura Carrillo whom manages the estate was amazing to work with her number one concern is persevering the mansion which I respected greatly which is probably why they still rent it out for events. I honestly cant believe the overwhelming stupidity of people now a days a DJ in doors really come on its a historic mansion! Our wedding was amazing from the two years of planning and several times Laura was more then willing to indulging me by letting me walk around and just talk her ear off to the day of helping make sure our wedding was a success. If your planning on having a rap concert with a bunch of base then no don't go I would suggest the waffle house or maybe prints alley. But if your wanting a classy event wedding or whatever. Then I would highly recommend the Two...
Read moreI took the Spirit Legends Tour and had a wonderful time. I had taken the regular history tour earlier this summer but the Spirit Legends Tour has ghost stories you don't hear during the normal tour. Also at night the mansion and grounds have a different feeling then during the day. These tours are only available in October on the weekends but, definitely worth it. You tour the 1859 mansion and the original 1802 home which has many reports of paranormal activity in the attic. Even if you're not into ghost it's still a great tour. Right now the main mansion is undergoing renovations on the exterior but the inside is not affected at all! The renovations and scaffolding should be gone by next summer. I look forward to going back to see and enjoy the mansion as the...
