“Mike” an employee at the reservoir was acting very unprofessional and addressed a situation against my family very poorly. Me and my family love this place literally have been going there for years never have we experienced such poor service. There was a misunderstanding with my family and not once did he approach us on the beach in a calm manor , we would have respected the rule and taken our dogs off the beach with no problem at all. But this man really wanted to make a whole show for the whole beach to enjoy and proceeded to yell at my mother being extremely rude. It was very uncalled for and he was calling us “ignorant” like what kind of hospitality is that!???? may I add that our dogs were calm and just laying in the sand, they never barked or showed any aggression while we were there. He proceeded to follow us while we took our belongings to our car literally we felt harassed and racially targeted. He also told us to “never come back” I just feel that the situation could have been handled differently and calm, and we would have happily came and revisited. Not to mention that an American family behind us that “mIkE” was being so friendly with and while was yelling at us , he was by they're side the whole damn time as if he saw us as a threat, that same family was drinking and last time I checked alcohol was prohibited on the beach but we were being yelled at for our dogs???!! This experience left my mother heart broken and let down :,( We have no problem following rules and regulations and it being called to our attention but things weren’t handled very well by this staff member. Will not...
Read moreWe absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE!! The swimming area is the cleanest lake swimming around the Grand Island area. The water isn't mucky and the sand is clean and soft. Now, the RV camping areas are our favorite. We can see both parks for the girls to play on with the many friendly "friends" they gain over the weekends. They also have a hideout "club house" nestled in the trees directly across the park they LOVE to play in with their new found friends. Right behind the RV site is a small lake my Husband enjoys fishing in and a 2 mile hike trail that the owners have put a scavenger hunt along the way with 20 different things the girls can hunt and at the end if they find them all the office gives them a free icecream 💗 The folks running the park are GOOD PEOPLE🙌 this is our first year owning a 5th wheel camper and they have been so awesome with showing us the ropes. We appreciate how personable and helpful they have been. And they are funny to boot! They are also really great with our girls! We have had nothing but great memories being made here!! And many...
Read moreI have long wanted to visit Bader Memorial Park, and a meeting in the area during our vacation provided the perfect excuse. The park is located about three miles south of the Lincoln Highway (Highway 30) between Chapman and Central City, along the Platte River. It is much more than just a campground, having seven lakes, one with a great swimming beach, and miles of trails mowed through a Cottonwood forest, along the river front and through a prairie. There are 24 RV sites with 30 and 50 amp, and 15 tent sites. There is a toilet house and a separate shower house. There are lots of day-use areas.||||This is a county park, run by a non-profit organization and volunteers. It is lovely and quiet and the trails are wonderful. However, it is easy to see they operate on a shoestring. There are lots of maintenance issues that should be addressed, though in August after a busy summer, this is to be expected.||||If you are traveling the Lincoln Highway, this is a great base to use to explore the local area, and would be great for a family reunion group or a...
