Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend
I was really hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, this place fell short in several ways. The staff were incredibly rude, impersonable, and—to be blunt—had an unpleasant odor, which made the visit even more uncomfortable.
Despite being marketed as a showcase of Alaskan culture, I found more authentic, Alaska-made goods in small hole-in-the-wall shops and even gas stations. It just didn’t feel genuine or welcoming.
If you're looking for a true cultural experience, skip this place and head just a little further down to McMillan Adventure Co., not even 100 feet past the railroad museum. Read moreThe Depo by the Golden Spike ceremony for the Alaska railroad compilation. The town has put a small Museum in there with some nice artifacts and displays. We recommend that as well as the railroad you go up the road and visit the two little art buildings full of local craft food and other information about the area
Learn about the Alaska River breakup contest that's been going on for multiple decades. You can see the tower they place in the river whose collapse signals the winner of the Great Alaska River breakup Lottery. Pay your dime pick your time and if you win it'll be just fine.
And the two local craft buildings there were four or five artist working on their stuff people to explain details of the area and lots of friendly Folk. The town has an interesting look at real...

Last year it was over $300,000! Definitely check this place out when...
