Got to the trailhead at around 4pm on a Monday in August. The parking spots are only a handful, unless you want to double park and block someone. The first half mile of the trail is full of bugs. I went up to Lake Spaulding. Quite unique seeing a hydroelectric power plant at the end of a trail. Also got to see a helicopter in action very close.
