NOT AN INCLUSIVE PLACE FOR LGBTQ+ FOLK OR ALLIES
As a guest of a band who was touring along the West Coast, I was delighted to be able to share in an evening with old friends in my hamlet. This particular band is well known to stand up in support of marginalized communities and, as a friend/fan, I offered my support in kind. A patron of the casino or concert felt it appropriate to lob a slur in my direction for sharing similar allyship and values of the artists. In turn, when confronted about their rhetoric, the brave patron stated their own feeling of being threatened and referencing Nevada's laws surrounding provocation and potential of personal harm. Effectively, the individual levied thin threats of 'standing one's ground,' which; one would reasonably construe as its own threat per se.
Security at the casino responded pallidly and only chose to create distance between the unruly patron and myself/members of the band who acted in response to the bigoted slur. It was clear fault was recognized for inaction as we had to exit the venue through a private door in order to not cross paths with the other.
I would like to give the benefit of the doubt to the staff and their protocols yet it was assuredly not an inclusive environment. While I cannot speak on behalf of communities that are often subject to this type of abuse, I would advise future CBC patrons to consider the risk of bigotry and lack of security response. We truly hope this experience...
Read moreWent on Friday night off season May 10. It was very slow maybe 20 people in entire place.
It did not smell like smoke, which I was expecting but with not so many people, well it was smoke free! Yeah!
The dealers were lonely as there were many open tables but they were smiling and genuinely friendly when speaking with them. That is why this place got three stars, because of the people.
Cons: why have video poker, roulette and other games with such a high minimum? Played video poker and minimums were $5. Should have allowed the $1 button to work because I would have rather had more fun playing more games losing $1 or $2 dollars and kept me their longer.
In turn, keeping me there longer would have made residual money getting drinks, or even food along with my partner.
Though I lost all but $2 of my money, my partner walked away with $50 extra in his pocket. In total, we were in the casino for only 30 minutes when I was expecting at least one...
Read moreVisited Tahoe with a group of friends for the weekend and was super excited to check this place out! We were initially ID'ed and hand stamped with the “21” stamp by two different employees standing at the entrance of the casino right when we walked in. However, despite this, I was repeatedly asked for ID by Bob, ( 4 times within 1 hour) the same employee who also made inappropriate comments about my friends. Despite showing my ID multiple times, I was threatened to be put in handcuffs by Bob for no apparent reason and ultimately kicked out. Unfair treatment, harassment, and inappropriate behavior by Bob. I’m extremely disappointed by this experience. Do not come to this casino if you’re a poc and expect to be treated fairly. My entire group felt extremely targeted and uncomfortable due to your worker Bob harassing us. Please train your employees to be better and learn how to...
