Tall pines provide lots of shady areas so no matter what time of day you go it is comfortable. Connects to Marilyn's pond for fishing, many small trout are visible from shore. There is a great guided nature walk with downloadable guide to learn about the plants, animals, and geology of the area.

Always a great time when you can get out in the woods. Please remember to bring poop bags and to clean up after your pet. That means all the way to the trash bins. Enjoy the views!

Galena Creek Recreation Area is located on Mount Rose Highway about six miles west of I-580/US 395 in southwest Reno. It ranges in elevation from about 6000 feet to about 9000 feet. It is a quiet and lightly used park with trails ranging from easy to moderate to strenuous. ...
