Great place for a birthday party. Their are 4 shelters, 3 of which are huddled together sort of creating a large sheltered area but are rented separately. If you need something bigger there is a larger shelter behind the skate park closer to the railroad tracks. The splash pad is solar powered I believe and in the middle is it is stomp activated. The restrooms are big and for being outdoor restrooms are generally quite clean. My only real major complaint was the sheer number of bumblebees- not Flys but actual bumble bees, you can't set a drink down without the risk of a bumblebee finding it. Be sure to double check your straws and honestly u might be better of snacking before you come here. The bees were really a nuisance for us. To rent any of the shelterz you can go to the city of newalbany parks and recreation website they with have an app there. I believe if I remember correctly we paid $100.00 and had the middle shelter area from 1-5 and as long as we didn't block the walk ways in between we were allowed to set up an additional table and chairs. As far as parks go this is by far one of the better parks in NewAlbany and in the summer it has no equal because it's splash pad I'd one of a kind. It'd be nice if they set up a splash pad...
Read moreThis is a really fun park depending on the time of day you visit (in my experience.) I usually go in the morning, and it is perfectly fine. My son loves the splash pad, and he enjoys much of the playground as well. I enjoy that they have a few pavilions to keep in the shade with picnic tables. One thing to note is that the ground where the playground is gets incredibly hot, so littles will burn their feet of you're not careful. My son just wears water shoes so he can go back and forth without worrying about that. I've noticed the later I'm there, the older and rougher the kids are. When I say rough, I mean kids running around in groups beating up on each other and being somewhat violent. They're also less aware of the smaller kids, so it increases the risk of the toddlers getting knocked over or pushed around. There is a skate park there also that is set back a little from the playground. The most recent time I went, people started smoking at the table next to ours shortly...
Read moreStaff was very rude. Showed up to her my daughter the vaccine and was told "we can't be running around the building." While we waited. We hadn't even walked more than 12 feet into the building, as the receptionist desk is right inside the building. Norton Sports Complex on the West End of Louisville is much nicer than that one. I would consider that more of a building than the silver street one but I digress. Everyone should be treated equally when doing business of ANY kind. I wish I would've gotten the "receptionist's" name so I could mention her. But as long as she brushes up on her customer service skills all...
