AW Stanley Park — Attraction in New Britain

Nice park with plenty to do. There is a public pool that is fairly new. A nice walking trail runs through the woods behind the pond. It isn't usually too crowded, so it allows you to be able to enter nature while still being close to the rest of the city. There is an entrance at Village Square Drive, off of Hartford Road so you can enter from the backside. The trail has been tarred over and looks like it is a bit busier than it used to be... It is still nice, just more crowded. It is a nice easy walking trail taking you through A.W. Stanley and it now connects to Stanley Quarter Park. It’s a nice improvement. Picnics areas are available for large groups from the city for a small fee. This park is a fun place for a kid to explore... Over the years, I have seen crayfish, snakes, eels, and fish in the park, not to mention birds in various locations throughout the park. It is also the home of the New Britain...

Lots of grassy areas to sit. A little stream running through. Some kind of Zipline attraction there, but I never really paid much attention to it. There's a public pool. Never been there though. Smallish playground. Actually a little too small for the number of kids usually there. Lots of trails through a big wooded area. Places to have big picnics with family and friends. Overall, a few shortcomings and unfortunately, too often the adults hanging out there leave a little to be desired, with obnoxious loud music on the weekends... This is a very nice park to come here with your family. They have outdoor grills picnic tables a big pond a big pool and also a playground so the kids can play. They also have a paved path around the back that you can walk around the entire pond on a loop trail. I come here at least twice a month because it's a beautiful place to just relax and walk your pet. You will see all kinds of ducks and wildlife out here.
