Nice park with plenty to do. There is a public pool that is fairly new. A nice walking trail runs through the woods behind the pond. It isn't usually too crowded, so it allows you to be able to enter nature while still being close to the rest of the city. There is an entrance at Village Square Drive, off of Hartford Road so you can enter from the backside. The trail has been tarred over and looks like it is a bit busier than it used to be... It is still nice, just more crowded. It is a nice easy walking trail taking you through A.W. Stanley and it now connects to Stanley Quarter Park. It’s a nice improvement. Picnics areas are available for large groups from the city for a small fee. This park is a fun place for a kid to explore... Over the years, I have seen crayfish, snakes, eels, and fish in the park, not to mention birds in various locations throughout the park. It is also the home of the New Britain Little League.
