Christopher Lloyd actor and director of Back To The Future and many other films grew up in New Canaan in a place now known as Waveny Park. His family donated the park to the town in a humanitarian gesture an incredible gift to New Canaan of hundreds of acres tax free to use as the town wants to use it. We built New Canaan High School tennis courts swimming pools theaters on hundreds of unspoiled acres with hiking trails and jogging trails that appear to go on forever a part of a natural preserve filled with beautiful tall green forests and flowering plants. Christopher's former home known as Waveny Mansion is used for weddings year round with hundreds of films and television shows filmed on this perfect backdrop with multi tiered balconies overlooking the meadows and the thousand acre woods. Squash and paddle tennis courts are available as well. Waveny Park is the setting for the town's Fourth of July celebration with magnificent fireworks hot air balloons and skydivers. Very beautiful park, great sledding in the winter, great for walks, great variety in the scenery.

The greenhouse/canopy/mansion area is just beautiful, very well maintained, the variety in the flora is beautiful.

I usually go here with my family, either in the winter for sledding, or just to walk around with the dogs and get some fresh air with some good views.

There are a few areas which are nothing but huge grassy fields and open space, which is great for going off leash if you’ve trained your dogs to not run off, playing sports, or even picnics.

I love just walking around and taking in nature here, the aesthetics are really amazing, especially for photography!
