I was very disappointed with my time at Bella Vista this past week. I have played here several times and never ran into any problems… That being said, this time was totally different. My friend booked a time for us on Golf now. Paid the booking fee on line and was told that we would pay for the round when we got to the club. OK!…Great! Not a problem with that at all. We were early for our tee time and decided to putt for a bit. Our tee time came and we were told that we had to go off the back - again - we had no problem with that. We hooked up with two other players who were so slow and bad and actually left the course after driving on the 13th hole - (to get a few beers and a bite to eat) and they didn't even say anything to us. (Go figure)… so we continued with our round - we finished in good time and when we came around to play the front 9 we were told that we would have to wait about 10 - 15 minutes because a "group" was going to play before us. OR if we wanted we could tee off again on the back nine but needed to wait for the others finishing up the front. What the heck we waited a few minutes to see how quickly this "Group" was going to play…. it took the first 4 some 20 minutes to go to the second shot. It was going to be a long long wait We asked the starter to please let us go out before the "group" as there was no one in front of this group of SLOW players. He refused (i think because we were two ladies) so we went to the pro shop and the man behind the counter basically ignored us and told us that this was a public course and sometimes it gets backed up. We asked for a 9 hole coupon but instead he gave us credit for 14.00 which was half of the golf now fee for the round. Not only was this man rude (he did not even look at us) he did not satisfy our request which was totally reasonable. As far as I am concerned they can take the 14. receipt and shove it… This was a horrible experience when all we wanted to do was enjoy a nice afternoon of golf …. I used to be very happy at Bella Vista but no longer. I have to mention that the starter was not the usual starter who I know would have made sure that we were...
Read moreAwesome course but greens were aerated about 2 weeks ago and when I called to ask if they were smooth they said they were running great. When I got there I could still see holes in the green from the aeration. Greens were definitely bumpy but yet they charge full price and we're not upfront about the fact that they were still bumpy. Honesty is the best policy. However it is a great course when the greens are proper.
No response would have been better. To say maintenance is required for a golf course is condisending! Thanks for the breaking news! To just ignore that I called to ask if the greens had recovered is a joke. Truth is I have played here since and the greens were perfect. However that doesn't change the fact that I was mislead when I asked if the greens were running smooth. I was told infatically yes they are fully recovered. I drove 30 minutes and 3 of my friends met me out there as well and 1 of them drove all the way from Harrisburg. To get there and find out the greens were bumpy was a pretty big disappointment, especially when I was bragging about how nice this place can be and my buddy had never played here.
With this being said, I won't be back to your course. To offer no apology for being mislead by your staff, offer no course of action to make sure your staff doesn't mislead customers in the future, and then act like I'm an idiot and dont know courses need maintenance, and then say you hope I come back should say it all!! I will also make sure I spread the word to the friends I'm sure you won't notice an impact from myself and maybe a few friends not playing your course anymore, but there are plenty of other great courses that will get my business. I'm sure the other courses will be glad to hear you not only dropped the ball once, but twice with your weak response. Offer no discount on a future round, or even worse an apology for being mislead. Wow! Maybe hiring and public relations manager would do you some good. Discount would have been a nice gesture but an apology would have...
Read moreFirst time playing here yesterday and we’ll definitely be back. The course was in great shape and both the guy in the pro shop and the starter were really nice. However, I do have to complain about the ranger. The first 6 holes, he must’ve circled around us about 15 times, which only adds unnecessary stress and pressure while we’re out there trying to relax and have a nice, enjoyable round at a course we never played before. We didn’t see him much after that until 14 and on, which was nice. As we’re driving away from 14, he stops us and tells us that we’re 20 minutes behind pace (which we were, not our fault though), they’re “stacked up” behind us and that we need to play faster. We had to wait to tee off on holes 10, 11, 14, 17 and 18 (to be fair to the group in front of us, they also had to wait to tee off on at least 10, 11, 14 and 18). Again, we had to wait to tee off on 14. I would like to know what recommendations the ranger could provide us so that we can play faster. Should we have hit into the group in front of us while they’re standing on the green? Then he also said they were “stacked up” behind us. Again, as I’ve mentioned multiple times already, we had to wait to tee off on 14. So we waited, played the whole hole, were driving away, ranger stopped us and when we looked back, there was no one on the tee box behind us. In fact, we hadn’t seen the group behind us since the 11th hole. So I would also like to understand what definition the ranger has for “stacked up” as it’s clearly different from the standard definition. For reference, we played in 4.5 hours, 2 on the front, 2.5 on the back due to the waiting. Anyway, I understand people want to play fast and the course wants people to stick to pace, but hawking people and getting on groups who literally cannot play faster without hitting into another group is a strange approach to getting people to...
