This place is such a little treasure. This place is so well-maintained. It's stunning. There are so many different types of trees here and they are labeled so you can get an idea of what type of trees that you're looking at. There are several loops in this place that you can loop around different sections. The main loop is around the pond but there's other shoots so you can spend a couple hours here just wandering around checking out the different things. The trails are well maintained. You may get turned around a little only because there are so many loops but just keep your eye on the pond and you won't get lost. I recommend thisplace. It's very easy walk. My friend and I walked around for about an hour and a half half or so just taking in all of the scenery. We definitely plan to come back here in May or June when the mountain is at its peak because there is so much mountain Laurel here. I think that will be stunning at this time of year. I also want to come back in September October to watch the colors of the leaves change. The parking is off street parking. There are signs for two hour parking. I did not see any charged parking, but it looks like you can park on both sides of the roads up and...

This is a great place to spend an afternoon. The trails are well marked and maintained. Trails can get a bit muddy in places after rain or snow melt. Jogging is allowed on certain trails, but biking is prohibited (see website or information board on site for details). If you are interested in learning about native plants there is a native plant collection down the hill and to the left of the front gate. There are also plaques identifying many of the plants and trees throughout the arboretum. Furthermore they have a variety of guided tours, events and classes. Check their website or Facebook page for upcoming events. If you prefer, there is a self guided tour as well see the information board onsite or their website for information. If you are going with a group I recommend carpooling as parking is limited. The only parking available, that I am aware of, is street side parking on the west side of the street. This can fill up fast in the summer months. Be careful as the road is a bit narrow for street side parking and the street is decently busy. You may be able to park at the college, but I don't know if you need a pass or anything so I have...

A special place that will remain untouched by the evil corporate world that has permeated even the best preserved land. It is both beautiful and educational. Trees are named. Special areas are marked. Bridges are well built where needed to help keep the water clean. Unfortunately, something has affected the water in the last couple of years. It is not as pristine as it once was. As a result fewer and fewer animals are seen in the area. Still even the trails that have been added, that are not on the map, are readily walked. A truly beautiful piece of land. As a bonus, I have never met anything but polite dog walkers, while...

The Connecticut college arboretum is very pleasant and quiet. Easy walk and hiking boots are not needed. It can be a little muddy in spots. Parking is easy. Great place for bird watching. However, the most important thing to know is WEAR BUG SPRAY AND LOTS OF IT. I was slathered with Deep Woods Off from head to toe and I was still attacked by deer flies and mosquitoes. Did I mention you should wear bug spray? Not just any old spray. You need commercial grade deet and or protective clothing like burlap and mosquito netting.

Situated directly across from Connecticut college in new london is this hidden green gem! Beautiful year round, great for a quick stroll or all day. Bring a picnic, a book, binoculars or crafts! Seating is very limited but my favorite is the single wicker chair hidden down by the pond that moves around. My second favorite is there is no jogging allowed lol. So relax people. Enjoy.
