Perfect location to visit Santa Fe, Enchanted circle, Bandelier, Valles Caldera, Jemez, Los Alamos etc. I agree with previous posts about the parking lot getting increasingly more unlevel as you go down towards the fire department so keep that in mind. We were here for 6 nights in March and it barely reached 50 percent capacity. My only complaint about the RV parking area is the kiosk. We were parked next to it and it is really loud as people can check in and pay at all hours. RV’s are hardly soundproof and that jolted me out of sleep a few times. There is a dump station and potable water near the fire house (in the visitor center parking lot). There is also a dumpster and recycling bins (near visitor center entrance). Not a lot of road noise despite being on the main road. The ladies at the visitor center were very helpful and had maps, brochures etc about area points of interest. I would absolutely stay here again. At no time did I feel unsafe leaving the RV here while we explored. Helpful pointers for the area: If you need a laundromat, it’s in Los Alamos at the Film Festival. It’s not listed online but it is there (quarter fed machines). It’s inside of the movie rental place and they also serve coffee, froyo, and boba tea. Kinda odd but really cool way to utilize space in a small town. Grocery store, propane fill, gas stations are all really close by. I have AT&T service and had no issues at all with connectivity. The car wash at the speedway is a rip off. Quarter fed but hardly any time per quarter and the spot free rinse stuff was out. Husband was kinda not happy about that. It’s also not large enough for most rigs. For Bandalier-it gets super crowded so best to go early. Valles Caldera-go into the ranger station and ask for a pass to drive the back country area. It’s free and we saw coyotes and tons of coyote snacks (prairie dogs). Jemez falls (is in the campground and is closed during the winter)- you can still access the falls you just have to park outside of the gates and walk in (approx. 2 miles each way-paved until the last ¼ mile...
Read moreA great stop in White Rock. Lots of great information and a super helpful staff. You can catch the passenger shuttle to Banderlier here. FYI there is not a lot of parking at Bandelier, so they run a shuttle. If you’re looking for great things to see and do in the area… Check it out. Tons of brochures and maps. It’s spotless clean plus they have RV parking. Want to know if they have RV spots available?Just call. They say they’ll look out the window and tell you! (I mean these people are super nice.) Oh… and the Pig and the Fig is a restaurant across the street — it’s awesome. Check it out. #LandOfEnchantment #NewMexico #WhiteRock #LosAlamos #Banderlier...
Read moreWe are fulltime RV travelers and this has been one of our FAVORITE places to park the RV. It’s a bummer that there isn’t either full hookups or 24-hour restroom (either/or would be so helpful!), but we have LOVED how conveniently located this spot is to so many things to see and do.
We were stressed out about whether we’d be able to score a spot since it’s FCFS and there are no other RV parks in the area, but there has been plenty of availability for the 10 days that we’ve been here. Water and dump station is located at the end of the parking lot, and you self-pay for each night’s stay up at the kiosk.
We will definitely be...
