Weekend getaway at an Airbnb in New Smyrna Beach. Nothing like the smell of ocean air. ⛱️🌊 . . . . . #newsmyrnabeach #daytonafl #vacation #getaway #summer #floridaadventures

Mom & I went out this morning for a walk. The weather was incredible & what a wonderful boardwalk they built to protect nature & the turtles while allowing us humans to still enjoy. We only saw 1 turtle as it was entering it’s burrow, but saw many other burrows with tracks as evidence they’re frequently used. We waved/greeted everyone we passed on the boardwalk & everyone was so friendly. I highly recommend visiting this lovely area.

It is a beautiful beach and very well kept up. They have a board walk all the way around it so you never have to get your feet dirty. It leads right to the beach. Plus there is a dog friendly area and beach that you can walk with your pets. Only thing was down side was a little pricey for $10 per visit. Other than that was a wonderful place I would really recommend a stop here.

Outrageous: New Smyrna Beach Now Charging for Parking

New Smyrna Beach used to be one of the few spots where you could enjoy the ocean without having to pay for everything… not anymore. They’re now charging $20 per day just to park near the beach — even in areas that were always free like Hiles Blvd and Bethune Park.

This doesn’t just hurt tourists — it hits local residents the hardest! Since when did enjoying a natural beach become a luxury? What happened to public, open access that Florida was known for?

While other beaches like Flagler Beach and parts of Cocoa still offer free parking, New Smyrna is pushing people away with high fees just to watch a sunset or take the kids for a swim.

Let’s hope the city rethinks this. Charging for parking isn't progress — it’s exclusion.

🌊 The beach belongs to everyone. Don’t...

Dont dislike but no close restrooms when you head out to the walks and stairs to beach accesses. Thought at least they should have Porto johns so handicapped persons and the elders dont have to walk over a mile to get back to the front were the only restrooms are. Poor design for the county.. Think they need to stop pulling up beautiful vegetation on ISB To plant more stuff and the many other wasted funds and grant moneys and put it to some worth while needed amenities. Let's use some common sense not just throw good money out the door when it can be utilized more efficiently for...

This place needs restrooms. There isn't even a single toilet here! you will never find it. People pooped on the ground, and parking lots. There is the smell of pee everywhere. It's a good thing it's raining a lot, otherwise you wouldn't be able to sit because of the smell. People have to do their job(!)here and there. What will they do? Someone came to the emergency toilet, what will they do there? should they do the sea? Why isn't there even one TOILET here? This situation is very bad! Authorities should urgently build many toilets there!...
