HUGE difference and change from when I grew up in Throggs Neck housing. This park was a dump for stolen cars, drugs and just illegal activity, period. Now there are basketball courts, benches, beautiful trees and real fencing. It would have been so nice to have had this when I was a kid growing up there but I guess better late than never will do. They even have public restrooms that weren't that bad. It just would have been nicer if the parks department had staff there to keep bathrooms cleaner and stocked with toilet paper...
Read moreThis is nice park located next to and under the Whitestone Bridge on the Bronx side. Located minutes a away from a small shopping mall this is a great located for bbqs, picnics,biking, fishing and walking. This park recently also got its own NYC Ferry stop which can take you from the park all the way down to Wall St in Manhattan. This park does get crowded and fast so beware.
