Despite the good reviews in the comments. I had a terrible experience here. My friends birthday we were expecting a litt brunch as the promo videos show however, as we waited for our table they found the deposit and no reservation. Allegedly you send your deposit then are suppose to call however there is no instruction to do so anywhere. Especially when my friend called to get the deposit info she wasn’t instructed anything further. We waiting an 1 hour and 15 mins to get seated then another 40 minutes to simply get water in our table. We didn’t see the waiter to take our appetizer orders till another 20-30 mins. Then the owner came over and told us to fix our faces that its our friends birthday and we should be hyping her up. Not to mention this whole thing resulted in the birthday girl crying twice. We spent an overall 5 hours here with terrible food service. Our food came to our table cold and the Alfredo pasta only tasted like flavored chicken and looked more like soup then anything. My food was served on a cracked plate and to make matters worse bottomless mimosas were infact bottomed. The waiters were not allowed to leave it on the table, despite asking to get more … more never came till 20 minutes later. Overall in our 5 hours in this restaurant we only had one cup and two sips of our bottomless mimosas. Only thing despite our friend’s desire to visit this place that kept us there so long was that they had a good DJ and that the restaurant was decorated nicely. This place cannot accommodate larger groups, min 5 people per party. This place also has no room for dancing despite video beliefs. Most of their furniture is kept outside and brought inside as needed basis and their mops were kept outside as well.

The owner was very rude, does not accept constructive feedback and truthfully the restaurant has great potential but it is...

We came here for brunch a party of 6. I do not recommend coming here for big groups of people. I also don’t recommend getting the bottomless drinks because there was definitely a bottom. Waitress complained about how many refills we were asking for. Mind you each person is paying $25 for this service. We asked for another round of bottomless and only got refilled 2 or 3 times. One of the girls only got refilled once in a span of an hour.

We weren’t asked for our main course until a hour and a half later. The owner came up and asked if we ordered and we let her know we didn’t.

The owner is very rude despite her very nice husband trying to calm and assess the situation. She cannot take constructive criticism as an owner. She got very aggressive once complaints were made in a respectful manner. The vibe was definitely fun because the DJ was killing it. The waitress and owner tried to gang up on me after I asked the owner for her name and told her about the bad service regarding the bottomless drinks and having to wait almost an hour for a tres leches cake with the birthday celebration. The owner then stated they extended our bottomless drinks at a discontinued price. That is incorrect. We paid $25 each for the first 90 minutes and paid the same $25 for the second round and it was 60 minutes. You do the math.

The owner continued to make slick comments when I was being very cordial and calm. I started looking at their legal documents they had posted on their walls and she became more aggressive.

We talked to the owner’s husband and he handled it better than she did. The ending of this experience was handled horribly and escalated to a place that wasn’t necessary or professional for a new business. I don’t think this business will thrive under this management unless they make improvements...

La Vie Mex is the new iteration of this space and a couple months back a few of us stopped in to check it out and to catch up.

I may be bias but I find it difficult to enjoy a restaurant and the food they offer when the focus seems to be more on hookah and photo ops.

We arrived at about 6pm on a Saturday and the place had some motion but was not busy. We were seated and started with drinks. Our server started off attentive. Once the drinks were corrected they were pretty good. Please note not everyone can successfully make an old fashioned even if they say they can.

We started with chicken nachos and then order entrées of chicken fajitas (for me), steak fajitas, and birria tacos.

Once our orders were placed our server became harder to find. However, the gentleman running the hookah was hustling and very visible. When we needed anything we had to get someone to flag our server down, whom was often at the bar as the employees were taking shots and smoking hookah themselves.

My chicken fajitas were cool once I added some extra razzle dazzle of sauces. The steak fajitas were ok and the birria tacos lacked flavor as per the respective recipients.

While I understand that hookah and social media aesthetics look cool for the gram & TikTok … I wanted a dining experience and that was lacking. With apps and drinks at $18-20 and entrées starting @ $25 & up I would have preferred good food and service over the charcoal and smoke tips.

Just A Note:

The place is cute. The service and food leave something to be desired IMO. However, if you are looking for a vibe and not food, and don’t mind a turn-up with your server over service then...

Made a reservation for brunch for 6 in early Feb for 3/16. Two weeks prior to the reservation, one person wasn’t able to come and i was able to easily edit the reservation to 5. I was sent a reminder to confirm the reservation 2 days b4 and on the day of, the owner called to let me know there were some streets blocked off due to a Saint pattys parade. My friends and i were able to plan ahead thanks to that call and parked and walked over. My brunch reservation was for 2:15pm. Now once we came in, we were seated fast. One of my friends was about 20 mins late and they didn’t give us an issue about it since the rest of us were there. They took our drink order and appetizers. My friend got there after we got our drinks and appetizers and she ordered hers and we all ordered entrees. The waitress was amazing! Kept coming to fill up my mimosa. We had shots, i felt celebrated the entire time. Owner came by and checked in on us too. The DJ was a vibe! Loved him and he kept shouting out all the birthdays in the room. There are 2 bathrooms which we didn’t figure out until later because there was only a sign for 1 of the 2 bathrooms but once we figured it out, we saw the cute photo op area in the back. It’s literally directly behind the DJ. The place is decorated beautifully and plenty of options for pics. Food was great, drinks were great and so were the vibes. Love the way they sing happy birthday with a whole party and bubbles. Overall great experience for a bday brunch no complaints. I will def be back for brunch and dinner for sure.
