This house is a well hidden treasure for Staten Island history buffs dating back to the 1600's. Thanks to the efforts of Friends of Olmsted-Beil House, it is slated to be restored and will be a wonderful addition to historic places to visit. In the 1980s I was friends with one of the children that lived here. I have fond memories of the house and property. I lived behind it on king st. I always wished I lived there as a kiddo and its always been a magical place. I. Sad to know the family no longer has it but happy to see its being restored. I'll have to visit it again to...

Visited with my history-oriented family members - great tour from the neighbor who grew up on the property when it was still rural. Wishing the best for the Friends of Olmsted-Beil House group as they advocate for the proper treatment of such a significant site in NYC's and the USA's history.
