I don’t know how no one’s mentioning the ruthless greenhead horseflies that bite through your clothes. There were SO MANY of them, maybe mixed with mosquitoes too. There were swarms of bugs biting me the moment I entered the park area, and I had a few cling onto me following me out, till I reached the Cross Bay bridge. I’ve always been used to a few buzzing around when fishing the bay, but these were nonstop. Early August daytime. Stressed me out.

It's more of a nature sanctuary. When you enter the location their's a double baseball field to the left. But as you continue forward and to the right are all wetlands that's apart of Jamaica Bay. As you venture forward their's a fork with a level path that goes around the area and a wooden pathway that becomes elevated. The path ends over the shore of the bay in a viewing area, with a couple of viewing post facing west.

The Sunset Cove Park Surprisingly wasn't Completely "All That," just like I saw some Beautiful pictures in the Google Map photos. Very Disappointing! ☹️ I felt like that there was no reason for me to hang around in this "so-called" Park, because I just surrounded with Lots of brown, or dead bushes & no green grass. Sorry to say this, but Sunset Cove Park was practically a Dump! 👎🏾🙁😕

Beautiful park with a salt marsh that has great views of the water and the NYC skyline. There's a small parking lot right on the premise, but signage to the park can be a little small. Park is located right before the crossbay bridge toll plaza. There's a few basketball courts and a lively walking path that lets you see the salt marsh up close. Would definitely be back for...
