My first visit to CHO.
This is actually a 5+/5 review dispite my critique. I enjoyed my visit and the wine and charcuterie board was great.
It's about half way between Portland and McMinnville. Thirty minutes from each.
They have Indoor and outdoor seating.
Inside is echo-y, amplifying all voices and sounds. Might make conversations challenging if the space is full of customers. I still enjoyed the modern design of the inside space.
Outside was enjoyable with soft background music. The chairs where a bit too small for my size, leaving my bottom uncomfortably pressing on the bars of the backrest. The surface was also slippery. All this making it difficult to sit back and relax comfortably.
The staff was friendly, and genuinely shared with joy and pride the description and history of each wine.
The weather on my day of visit was beautiful! The view was impressive. I spotted many varieties of birds flying around on this lovely day.
I enjoyed the wine tasting. I will return again for future wine tastings and...
Read moreWe were running late for our reservation at Cho Winery and expected to miss out or be rushed, but the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and relaxed, even with our kids!
What really stood out was how incredibly kid-friendly the experience was. They had juice boxes, snacks, and even toys to keep the little ones happy while we enjoyed the tasting. Such a thoughtful touch that made a huge difference.
As someone who isn’t usually a wine person, I was surprised by how much I genuinely enjoyed each pour. The wines were absolutely delicious, and the background knowledge they shared about each one made the tasting feel personal and engaging without being overwhelming. It was clear they cared deeply about their craft.
Overall, it was such a positive, memorable experience—for both the adults and the kids! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Cho Winery to anyone looking for a relaxed, family-friendly wine tasting with top-notch service and...
Read moreWow - you can tell how much time and thought went into creating this beautiful space. Everything had meaning and connection- from your welcome drink and the tasty table snacks, to the thoughtful info pamphlet and welcoming interior design. The wine itself was amazing. I’m usually not one that enjoys most wines and typically go for the social aspect- but each tasting had that super drinkability delish quality that made me keep wanting more! Both owners were there and they were absolutely lovely. The patio was really large with a huge covering to block the harsh sun- they even had a few games and chairs to sit and enjoy on the lawn. I do wish there were a few more food options on a more regular basis, but I know the focus is obviously the wine when you first open!
Note- there is some sort of gun range nearby. We went on a Saturday in the afternoon and heard it a bit. Not enough to totally derail, but something to note so you’re...
