They remembered my wife and I from last year and gave us a free canou to roam the waters with. The only problem we had was our second night, a woman from Montana was leaving the park she offered my wife a plant and cheap rod and reel set of course my wife was thrilled to get these items and proudly displayed the plant on our picnic table and we even fished with the rod and reel set. We were working on our rv and decided to go fishing and let the motor cool off. As we walked away another park ranger and a game warden pulled up. We of course turned around to see what was going on. Although the park ranger was nice to us the game warden told us that another camper had complained that he was missing a potted plant and rod and reel set, of course they came to our campsite and told us of the complaints. The people only wanted their property back and did not want to press charges. A man came over and identified the items as his at this point the warden treated us like thieves he did his best to search through our belongings without actually tearing things apart he noticed that our tag had expired in 2018 and wrote my wife a ticket. After that he pulled my wife off to the side knowing my wife had a suspended d/l he tried to make her admit to driving the rv to the park. We were told they were deciding on weather or not they were going to evict us from the park which would mean we would never be allowed back. I have terminal cancer and 3 weeks ago had undergone major surgery. We had been here before and it was a very peaceful place to be.also the warden was looking for a green rod and reel set, yet one of my white and red rod and reel set and of course the plant.after the threats and harassment we went through not only the embarrassment. We will never visit...

Read moreThat was definitely worth a ride. Picture perfect place. Several entrances down onto the Bayou. The couple of staircases are very steep, but they are sturdy. Once you can get done onto the Bayou , you can walk along the sand. There's actually a couple of spots on the sand where you could actually lay out and enjoy the sun. I saw dolphins playing. The park is well shaded. Huge oaks throughout the park.. There's picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park with grills. They have a nice little boat and kayak launch. Hiking trails and a playground. It's a really beautiful little state...
