Unique and beautiful along the river. Listening to the birds on the river in the morning is wonderful (bring binoculars). Located up on the bluffs, its still at a distance and few (or none?) trails to riverside. For bikers: there is some elevation and slopes. They have both paved trail for bikes (more than 4 miles) and walking trails in the prairie and woods. Bathrooms are nearby and plenty of pickenick tables, fire pits, grills, even tools and tire pump for bikers. Free drinking water and I saw an electrical outlet at the picnic grounds. Bring your kids there's a large playground and volleyball area (careful along the bluffs, there are real cliffs) . There is no sign posted by the turn off on Fahey so I'm not sure how you would know about this place unless you read about it before hand. We did the 10 miles along the river to Hastings (had a bite there) and back and couldn't believe the gorgeous way that the trail curves, rolls up and down, right along the river with a variety of informational look outs. The path is smooth, easy to follow, and not crowded, which makes the ride peaceful and enjoyable. Parking is convenient, and there are spots to stop, take in the scenery, and snap a few photos.
