My Grandmother, Nancy Hamilton Arnold was born in the Wolf House and I was wondering why their is never any mention of other people that lived there. Her Mother was Cherokee an walked on the trail of tears. As a child I went in the Wolf House many times before it was restored and their was a side saddle and a paper mache fish that my Mother, Beulah Arnold Montgomery and classmates made at Norfork High school. We're they still there when it was restored? Nancy has one daughter still living and her Grandchildren are in their sixties or older. I would just like people to know that other families also lived...

The Wolf House was my Mother's family homestead so we have been quite a few times. We have always enjoyed going. Yesturday we decided to take our younger children who are now older to see it so they could remember more. Was very disappointed. They are doing construction on all of the buildings. All of them are blocked off. You cannot get near enough to see anything. Web site did not say anything about the work being done. Would have chosen to do something else with my kids if I had known. Call before you go! Maybe then you won't have to be greatly...

This place is awesome! We have fun every time we come here. The man who gives the tours is incredibly knowledgeable about pretty much anything from the period and is very friendly and fun. You really get a feel for what it was like back then, complete with interactive experiences of sights and sounds from that era. Great place for families, and it is very well maintained. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for something fun to do in the area....

Great roadside stop. Plan to bring a lunch, sit down at one of the many picnic tables, and enjoy the history and serenity of this quaint place. Perfect for the kids to stretch and get the wiggles out. Take the time to read all the plaques to really appreciate early settler life. This site is not large and should only take 30 minutes to see everything. Hopefully the train is moving when you stop by!

Interesting historical monument and a very enthusiastic curator there at the visitor center who will tell you the whole history of the area. You can walk around the grounds and even go upstairs in the building. Evidently they plan to make some renovations to the house off to the side. There is a lookout for the river also that evidently is better in the winter when the trees are bare.
